Gackt (がくと) is a Japanese smasher who mains Ness in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. He is widely considered to be the best Ness player in the world, having taken sets from top players such as Tea, Glutonny, Kola, ProtoBanham, Shuton, Cosmos, Asimo, Kome, and Atelier. Gackt is currently ranked 7th on the Experimental Smash Player Rankings and 26th on the PGRU v3 NA and is ranked 24th on the discontinued Japan Player Rankings. He has been active in Smash since 2005.[1]
Gackt was also among the best Ness players in the world in SSB4. He has taken sets over top Smash 4 players including komorikiri, Abadango, ANTi, tamim, Tsu, kameme, Nietono, Locus, T, and Ned.
Playstyle
Gackt relies on PK Thunder to create mindgames and devastating ledgetraps, often allowing him to close out stocks quickly. His breakout tournament was at The Big House 7 where he earned 17th place and defeated top players tamim, Locus, and ANTi. Since then, Gackt has done very well at various tournaments in both Japan and the United States.
