Overview
Roy swings his sword in a downward slash, which has the potential to meteor smash opponents. As with all of Roy's moves, the move's sweetspot is located in the hilt hitbox. Unfortunately, unlike Marth's down aerial, it does not spike opponents.
The move does not share Marth's dair's property of the sweetspot taking priority over the sourspots should they both connect. This means that Roy essentially has to be almost below the opponent to hit with just the hilt hitbox in order for it to work properly. Even then, it can be easily meteor canceled. Overall, Roy's down air is significantly less useful in practically every way compared to Marth's.
