A natural combo is a sequence of attacks that can only be performed by pressing a particular combination of buttons. They can be found in all three games. Natural combos are sometimes, but not necessarily, combos; the sequence of attacks is not guaranteed to hit the opponent if the first hit connects. The most common type of natural combo is performed by pressing neutral attack repeatedly; most characters will perform multiple attacks (such as Mario's jab, jab, kick), and some characters will launch into a rapid attack. Some characters, such as the Links, Snake, Captain Falcon, and Meta Knight have combos using their tilts or smashes as well.
Marth and Roy's Side Special attacks are also natural combos; after the first strike, players can press up Special or down Special for three more attacks, each time yeilding a different attack.
