—Description from Ultimate's Move List |
Bomb Drop (グラウンドボム, Ground Bomb) is one of three down special moves for the Mii Gunner.
Overview
When used, the Mii Gunner throws a bomb onto the stage that will roll a short distance. If the bomb is dropped in the air, it will fall to the ground. A few seconds after the bomb is dropped, or when it hits an opponent, it explodes similarly to Samus's Bomb, but with more power. The bomb deals 11% at close range and 9% at the farthest range, and does not affect the user.
This move has significant lag that limits its onstage utility, but it can be useful for edge-guarding, as the bomb can easily be dropped from a ledge to hit recovering opponents. The lag can also be bypassed by Bomb Dropping in midair.
In Ultimate, Bomb Drop has been given new changes. The bomb's fuse has been extended, so it takes slightly longer for it to explode. The bomb, however, can be manually detonated earlier by inputting the move again, although it will cause the Mii Gunner to drop another bomb. However, the bombs can now be knocked back towards their point of origin by any attack, potentially harming the Gunner.
Customization
Special Move customization was added in Super Smash Bros. 4. These are the variations:
1. Echo Reflector | 2. Bomb Drop | 3. Absorbing Vortex |
---|---|---|
"Reflects enemy projectiles, sending them back even stronger than they were before." | "A thrown bomb that rolls a short distance on the ground." | "Sucks in enemy projectiles, forming a barrier that also heals your damage." |
