Sex kick is a slang term for a neutral aerial kick that remains extended for a few moments after the initial thrust. The term was coined by Matt Deezie. The signature aspect of a sex kick is that it is stronger during the initial extension and weaker afterwards, although Dr. Mario's sex kick reverses this trend. In Brawl, this initial hit can connect for only first frame of the attack. Other typical attributes of a sex kick include long duration, high range, low startup time, and low landing lag.

Although sex kick classically refers to only neutral aerials, smashers often extend its usage to other aerial attacks with similar properties, such as Fox's back aerial in Melee.
