Entei (エンテイ, Entei) is a creature from the Pokémon media franchise.

Creature Description
Origin
Like the other legendary beasts, Entei made its debut in Pokemon Gold & Silver. Entei was a legendary Pokémon that perished when the Burned Tower caught on fire. Ho-oh then revived Entei along with the other legendary beasts. Entei, along with Suicune and Raikou, can be found in the Burned Tower's basement. Once the player awakens the legendary beast, the player can find Entei in the areas where wild Pokémon are found. Entei also makes an appearance in Pokemon Fire Red & Leaf Green. Once the player completes a certain event on the Sevii Islands, then Entei will be roaming the wild if the player has chosen Bulbasaur as their starter. Entei can be transfered to Pokemon Diamond & Pearl through the use of the Pal Park.

Entei is treated as a "legendary" Poké Ball Pokémon; its chance of appearing is much rarer than most of the others, but in return, its effect is more powerful. Entei uses Fire Spin as its attack. A column of fire will surround Entei's body when it executes this attack. Any character caught in the column of fire, excluding the summoner, will take damage, up to 72% if all hits connect. The character is also forced towards the top of the screen when they get caught in the column of fire. The attack can be DI'd out of, limiting its effectiveness.

Entei (エンテイ, Entei) is a creature from the Pokémon media franchise.

Origin[edit]

Entei's official artwork from Pokémon Crystal.

Entei is a Fire-type Legendary Pokémon introduced in Generation II, and is categorized within the Pokédex at #244 as the "Volcano Pokémon". Along with Raikou and Suicune, Entei is part of a trio commonly referred as the legendary beasts: in Pokémon Gold and Silver and their remakes Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver they can be found in the Burned Tower, however when interacted with they run away. Entei can then be found randomly in any route, and will attempt to run away whenever it gets a free turn unless it gets trapped by a move like Mean Look or an ability like Shadow Tag: however, any damage and status conditions received will be retained.

Fire Spin is a Fire-type move that Entei can learn naturally. While weak (35 base power, 15 before Generation V) it traps the opponent for five turns, inflicting damage at the end of every turn and preventing it from fleeing or being switched out.

In Super Smash Bros. Melee[edit]

As a Poké Ball Pokémon[edit]

Entei using Fire Spin in Melee.

As a stage[edit]

The Entei stage in Event 26: Trophy Tussle 2.

Entei appears as a stage that can only be played in Event 26: Trophy Tussle 2.

The battle takes place on the Entei trophy. With Entei's side facing the screen, the arena is relatively large, giving fighters ample room to battle. When the player beats the event match, they will earn the Entei Trophy. The stage cannot be unlocked, and can only be played outside Event 26 with certain cheat devices such as Action Replay.

Trophy[edit]

The Entei trophy is unlocked by completing Event 26: Trophy Tussle 2 for the first time.
