5-Volt (ファイブワット, 5-Watt) is a character from the WarioWare universe.
Origin[edit]
5-Volt is the mother of recurring WarioWare character 9-Volt. Outside of being mentioned in the Japanese website of WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgame$!, she made her formal debut in WarioWare: Twisted! as a side character of 9-Volt's story from that game. She would later reappear in Game & Wario with a more greater role, and then reappear as an employee of WarioWare, Inc. in subsequent titles following Game & Wario's release.
In the Gamer minigame in Game & Wario, she fiercely watches her son as he tries to play video games after his bedtime, and the player (as 9-Volt) must alternate between playing microgames on the Wii U GamePad and hiding from 5-Volt. Her means of approach from Game & Wario are retained in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, such as appearing from the door, the window, and the TV; the appropriate sound cues are also retained if the music track Gamer is playing.
Game & Wario makes a point of claiming that 5-Volt's representation in Gamer is strictly 9-Volt's imagination. Outside of that, even if sometimes strict, she's a sweet and careful mother for 9-Volt that also adores to cook dishes.
In Super Smash Bros. for Wii U[edit]
As a stage hazard[edit]

5-Volt is a major stage hazard on the Gamer stage, reprising her function from the source minigame in Game & Wario. She will occasionally appear in the background of the stage, looming ominously and casting her gaze upon the desk which serves as the stage. Any characters caught in her line of sight when it reaches the desk will be hit with heavy damage and knockback as she flies into a rage.
A sticker depicting 5-Volt also appears as a stage decoration on the main platform.
Trophy[edit]
5-Volt does not have her own trophy, though she shares one with her son 9-Volt. It is part of the WarioWare, Inc. Trophy Box.

- 9-Volt & His Mother
Wario and friends' newest selection of minigames are all designed to be played with the Wii U GamePad. In Gamer, you take on the role of young 9-Volt, playing a selection of microgames in bed at night. When his mom pops her head in, you'd better pretend to be asleep. If she catches you playing, it's game over!
