While a Bowser amiibo figurine hasn't been shown physically yet, gameplay in the trailer shows Bowser with the "FP" marker floating above him, which is indicative of an amiibo character. Here's a direct link- http://youtu.be/odUjMhc6YgU?t=2m22s

Mewtwo amiibo
So...I woke up this morning (around this time is the normal time I wake up), and I was scrolling through Facebook...and I found this. If it fulfills the SW:NEWGAME requirements, would it be worth mentioning at all? <span style="color: blue;">Aidan the</span> <span style="color: blue;">Aura Master</span> 06:46, 28 January 2015 (EST)
:That falls into the "needs discussion" tier of SW:NEWGAME. I'm pretty skeptical given a) we don't know for sure that there will be a Mewtwo amiibo yet at all, and b) the screenshot's Mewtwo model looks very different from the artwork that seemingly was used as a base design. Is that screenshot a Project M one? <font color="dodgerblue"><span style="font-family:Comic Sans MS;">Miles <font color="silver">(<font color="silver">talk)</font></font></span></font> 07:37, 28 January 2015 (EST)

:::Google "Waluigi amiibo", it's not impossible to create a custom amiibo and package it. With that in mind, the screenshot is just from Project M so it's definitely bullshit (plus if it's in it's packaging that means they've already started producing them, which I doubt they have). == Collectables from amiibos ==
From what I've tested, amiibos will not obtain CDs from their pick ups -- that includes when you rescan. People on Reddit and GameFAQs have tested this too. :It's shown right here, sooooo yeah. However, amiibo have never gotten me CDs, so that may just be that. I personally have gotten trophies I've visually seen my amiibo pick up when I re-scanned them. Plus another user claimed to get a Wonder Red trophy his amiibo picked up. I'll reword it as such. == 4 per row instead of 5 ==
I don't see why this is a problem. Like, at all. It makes no difference on the Desktop version and makes the Mobile version better. Plus, there are no little one head "tails" when there are four per row. Laikue (talk | contribs) 08:16, 3 April 2015 (EDT)

That's so strange, the video got removed! I can't find a trace of it!Nintenzilla (talk) 10:32, 29 April 2015 (EDT)
:Well, to be quite frank (and I mean no offense to you when I say this), you might've been mistaken. The amiibo compatibility site clearly shows that only Splatoon amiibo are compatible with Splatoon, and the Direct that first showed the Splatoon amiibo clearly showed that only Splatoon amiibo would be compatible with Splatoon. ::Well, considering the video was pulled from Youtube, it could very well be that Nintendo is trying to cover this up. :*sigh* OK, Dr. Mario was listed as compatible with Splatoon, but it's widely believed to have been a glitch, as it was only viewable on this page and not on the compatibility chart. 'cracks fingers' Short answer, no, it's too late to consider this. For one, the definition of rarity can be varied. For example, there were many Rosalina on launch day, with many stores getting 36 of her, some 48, yet she is still hard to get. A similar thing happened with Gold Mario, where there were a lot of him, yet he is now hard to get because so many people bought him up with the sole intention of trading him.<br>
Another issue is that rarity doesn't translate to other regions or even states. Take, for example, Ike. Ike is rare in the US, yet borderline common in the UK. Lucario is uncommon in Germany, yet exceedingly rare in the US. Zelda and Kirby are rare in the UK, but both can be easily found in the US. Toon Link and Sheik were common in some states in the US, but rare in others.<br>
Rarity also changes overtime, take Fox. Fox was very common in the first few months, but later on became rare. Sonic, Sheik, Toon Link, and Mega Man all started out very rare, with none of them able to be found at ANY store. However, in the following weeks many of them started popping up and they were considered common/uncommon now-a-days (with the exception of Mega Man, who is becoming rarer now). Too further my point, look at this.<br>
And finally, restocks. The recent restocks are the reason I feel that a rarity section is no longer needed. Nintendo is trying now to make every amiibo easier to get. And so far, for at least Japan, they're restocking EVERY RARE AMIIBO (with the exception of Gold Mario). With US and Europe likely getting these soon (as well as already getting Ike, Marth, and Meta Knight), it completely alleviates the need for a rarity section. Not to mention the up-keep on such a section would be difficult to do.<br>
tl;dr We don't need a rarity section, as rarity is subjective, frequently changing, inconsistent, a matter of opinion, and is being officially dealt with. Laikue (talk | contribs) 06:33, 9 May 2015 (EDT)

OK, this exploded much farther than I expected. Bottom line, we need a better system. Using the Fire and Yellow Mario heads is problematic. To the uneducated reader, they wouldn't know they meant Gold and Silver Mario. Yellow isn't that big of a deal alone, but white in particular is problematic because Fire Mario has the potential to, and probably will eventually, get an amiibo. This also works into something Miles won't stop bringing up. Yes, the system has been in place for 6 weeks, but Silver Mario makes the system obsolete. This is something I have meant to say, but kept forgetting to.
Now, as for the ways we can end this whole debacle...
1. We could do Nutta's idea of having metallic versions of Mario. BUT he'd be expected to keep making these as new amiibo are announced. This could eventually be problematic, as he may just decide to quit on us.<br>
2. We could just use the amiibo images themselves, as I did in my last edit. This would be the easiest solution and the best for maximum clarity, but as Miles had said, it's large and can potentially become too large.<br>
3. We can do Toomai's unknown idea. It could be something we can agree on, but until it's revealed it doesn't hold any real weight.<br>
4. We could do Toom's other idea of just putting a note saying something along the lines of "Silver and Gold editions of these amiibo are also compatible with Super Smash Bros. 4" I feel that this is one of the better options as it doesn't lock us into anything and would require one swift edit.<br>
5. We use the previously mentioned head icons to show Silver and Gold Mario, but as previously stated, this adds an unnecessary level of confusion to the uninformed reader.<br>
6. We just don't list Silver or Gold Mario. They're technically "Mario - Gold Edition" and "Mario - Silver Edition" so it might be enough to just list Mario. I don't personally like this one, but it is an option.<br>
7. I have another idea, but I need confirmation on it before I'm gonna bother saying anything.
With all of this said, which do you guys think would work best? I'm leaning towards 4 until I hear Toomai's other idea/get confirmation on MY other idea. Laikue (talk | contribs) 22:19, 18 May 2015 (EDT)
:I was operating under the assumption that the approximations with pre-existing costumes was sufficient since any confusion would be cleared up upon clicking the interwiki link to Mario Wiki's amiibo page. I figured the average reader was savvy enough to click through that link if they were interested in the variant Mario designs, the same way as with the Yarn Yoshis. ::Well, you have to prepare for the worst (a.k.a. people too stubborn/stupid to click said link). Additionally, the regular everyday user looking for quick info wouldn't click over to Mariowiki. As I said, it worked with the Yellow head, but the Fire Mario head would just cause too much confusion/have to be changed anyway if and when Fire Mario comes out on his own.
::For now I think we should just implement #4 and call it a day, it clears up any problems we could have, and it ends most of the arguments that have been going on. Laikue (talk | contribs) 22:54, 18 May 2015 (EDT)

On restocks
On a side note, restocks don't matter. Let me actually explain it though...
1. Restocks cannot be kept track of. For instance, Lucario recently got an unannounced, minor, obscure, confirmed restock. These are not easy to keep track of and pile up fast.<br>
2. Every amiibo (except for MAYBE Gold and Silver Mario) has an announced restock, has had a restock, or WILL have a restock. Making the statement pointless.<br>
3. Restocks are implied for every product, unless they're specified to be limited edition.<br>
Now, discontinuations, if and when they come, would be notable enough to mention, but seeing how no amiibo has been officially discontinued by Nintendo, we need not worry about it right now. On the character lineup page on the official amiibo website, Falco and G&W are said to be scheduled for release in "June 2015" and don't have the "coming soon" note all other future amiibo do. Bowser?

While a Bowser amiibo figurine hasn't been shown physically yet, gameplay in the trailer shows Bowser with the "FP" marker floating above him, which is indicative of an amiibo character. Here's a direct link- http://youtu.be/odUjMhc6YgU?t=2m22s

I think this might be worth mentioning somewhere. - Burb

Multiple Amiibo fights?

We know they will happen, but how? It at least appears that only one figurine can connect to the game pad at a time, and the 3ds extension can only hold one, so how will more than one fight, could you press it on, take it off, press another one on and take it off, then do the same after the fight to save? How will this work? 98.112.97.173 16:40, 24 June 2014 (EDT)

It's a tough call. It wouldn't be that difficult to do at this point given how few games are amiibo compatible, but it could get rather unwieldy in the future (especially for characters like Mario and Link). Miles (talk) 09:33, 7 November 2014 (EST)
amiibos by themselves aren't really a Smash Bros. property - yeah, all the ones we have so far are Smashers in their SSB4 artwork pose, but I expect in future to see ones for other characters. So I don't think it's in our scope to even list amiibos that don't work with a Smash Bros. game. Toomai Glittershine ??? The Obfuscating 13:11, 7 November 2014 (EST)

According to IGN, Shulk, Mega Man, and Sonic will be released in February 2015, whereas the rest will be released in January. "Wave 4" is Wave 5

The Super Mario amiibo is technically Wave 4. Though it is the fourth wave of specifically SSB amiibo, but you may want to mention somewhere that it is the fifth wave overall if you go with that. Personally I think we should add the Super Mario amiibo list, sans Toad, since they work with SSB, and include somewhere in that section "the pack also includes a Toad amiibo, which does not function with Super Smash Bros.". Either way it'd be nice to have a reference to the true fourth wave somewhere. ---Preceding unsigned comment added by you. Or maybe Nutta. 12:46, 14 January 2015 (EST)

I wouldn't even put them on this page in the first place, because they're not Smash related. As for the wave number confusion, I...might actually consider the Smash ones wave 5, since they're said to be released in the spring, which is (presumably) after the Mario amiibo release date of 3/20/15 iirc. But that's just me. AidanzapunkSig.jpgBlueStreak Speeds By 14:56, 14 January 2015 (EST)

I think we first need to come to a conclusion as to what to do with non-Smash Bros. amiibo in general - do we list them, do we mention them, or do we ignore them? If we ignore them then we wouldn't count them in the wave numbers; otherwise we might depending on what exactly we do.

Personally, I think we should count them as "Smash Bros. waves 1-4" and "Super Mario wave 1". I also think we should ditch the subsections and make a table, though not until we decide whether we'll be mentioning the non-Smash Bros. ones. Toomai Glittershine ??? Google "Waluigi amiibo", it's not impossible to create a custom amiibo and package it. From what I've tested, amiibos will not obtain CDs from their pick ups -- that includes when you rescan. People on Reddit and GameFAQs have tested this too. Kjhf (talk) 18:23, 1 February 2015 (EST)

It's shown right here, sooooo yeah. However, amiibo have never gotten me CDs, so that may just be that. I personally have gotten trophies I've visually seen my amiibo pick up when I re-scanned them. Dr.Mario Amiibo in Splatoon

That's so strange, the video got removed! I can't find a trace of it!Nintenzilla (talk) 10:32, 29 April 2015 (EDT)

Well, to be quite frank (and I mean no offense to you when I say this), you might've been mistaken. The amiibo compatibility site clearly shows that only Splatoon amiibo are compatible with Splatoon, and the Direct that first showed the Splatoon amiibo clearly showed that only Splatoon amiibo would be compatible with Splatoon. Aidanzapunksignature.pngAidan, Master of Speed and AuraAidanzapunkSignaturesmall.PNG 10:37, 29 April 2015 (EDT)
Well, considering the video was pulled from Youtube, it could very well be that Nintendo is trying to cover this up. Maybe not all of the features have been shown yet, usually we get an Amiibo trailer to show what's compatible, which we haven't gotten yet. Could be but I have a theory. You see, a thing alot of people have been asking for as a little joke I suppose is Mario and Luigi in Splatoon with their F.L.U.D.D. packs, because of this I think that if you tap Mario, Dr. Mario, or Luigi into Splatoon, you'll get them with their F.L.U.D.D. packs and can play as them. • sigh* OK, Dr. Mario was listed as compatible with Splatoon, but it's widely believed to have been a glitch, as it was only viewable on this page and not on the compatibility chart. Additionally, when Splatoon was on that page, one of the other games was not, I forget which, but got added when Splatoon was removed, further pointing to it being a glitch. Rarity

Should we include something about the currently scarcity of amiibos scalpers? It's very relevant to amiibo.

Sign your posts with four of these - "~" And also, there's no fixed definition for rarity, particularly in Europe. (I think...) ScoreCounter 06:04, 9 May 2015 (EDT)

'cracks fingers' Short answer, no, it's too late to consider this. For one, the definition of rarity can be varied. For example, there were many Rosalina on launch day, with many stores getting 36 of her, some 48, yet she is still hard to get. A similar thing happened with Gold Mario, where there were a lot of him, yet he is now hard to get because so many people bought him up with the sole intention of trading him.

Toon Link and Sheik were common in some states in the US, but rare in others.

Too further my point, look at this.

Not to mention the up-keep on such a section would be difficult to do.

tl;dr We don't need a rarity section, as rarity is subjective, frequently changing, inconsistent, a matter of opinion, and is being officially dealt with. Laikue (talk | contribs) 06:33, 9 May 2015 (EDT)

The Awesome 21:05, 18 May 2015 (EDT)

I understand. Nintenzilla (talk) 21:14, 18 May 2015 (EDT)

This could eventually be problematic, as he may just decide to quit on us.
2. We could just use the amiibo images themselves, as I did in my last edit. This would be the easiest solution and the best for maximum clarity, but as Miles had said, it's large and can potentially become too large.
3. We can do Toomai's unknown idea. It could be something we can agree on, but until it's revealed it doesn't hold any real weight.
4. We could do Toom's other idea of just putting a note saying something along the lines of "Silver and Gold editions of these amiibo are also compatible with Super Smash Bros. 4" I feel that this is one of the better options as it doesn't lock us into anything and would require one swift edit.
5. We use the previously mentioned head icons to show Silver and Gold Mario, but as previously stated, this adds an unnecessary level of confusion to the uninformed reader.
6. We just don't list Silver or Gold Mario. They're technically "Mario - Gold Edition" and "Mario - Silver Edition" so it might be enough to just list Mario. I don't personally like this one, but it is an option.

I was operating under the assumption that the approximations with pre-existing costumes was sufficient since any confusion would be cleared up upon clicking the interwiki link to Mario Wiki's amiibo page. I figured the average reader was savvy enough to click through that link if they were interested in the variant Mario designs, the same way as with the Yarn Yoshis. Miles (talk) 22:40, 18 May 2015 (EDT)
Well, you have to prepare for the worst (a.k.a. people too stubborn/stupid to click said link). Additionally, the regular everyday user looking for quick info wouldn't click over to Mariowiki. As I said, it worked with the Yellow head, but the Fire Mario head would just cause too much confusion/have to be changed anyway if and when Fire Mario comes out on his own.
For now I think we should just implement #4 and call it a day, it clears up any problems we could have, and it ends most of the arguments that have been going on. Laikue (talk | contribs) 22:54, 18 May 2015 (EDT)
Also, just as a side note, make sure to un-protect the page before E3 at least. The editwarring should be fully dead by then and there's probably gonna be a lot of amiibo info to cover. Laikue (talk | contribs) 02:00, 20 May 2015 (EDT)

OK, seriously, the second a Fire Mario amiibo is announced, the system is gonna become null. Why not just leave the note? Honestly, we wouldn't have to keep up the page every time a new variant was announced, we wouldn't have to resort to using confusing head icons, and it literally takes no effort to read the note.

Seriously, can you give one fucking reason that the head icons work better? Just one reason, any reason at all. Laikue (talk | contribs) 14:30, 26 May 2015 (EDT)

More condensed. I'm trying to keep those tables as streamlined and free of text notes as possible. Miles (talk) 14:32, 26 May 2015 (EDT)
I see your point, but it's still going to become absolutely null in the future as more variants are announced and it's still confusing to the uninformed reader. Laikue (talk | contribs) 14:38, 26 May 2015 (EDT)
If you want something that is streamlined/free of text notes, we need Gold/Silver Mario heads. Not necessarily mine, but we need some. We use fan-made heads for unreleased characters (Lucas (SSB4)), why is this that much different? ---Preceding unsigned comment added by you. Or maybe Nutta. 16:42, 27 May 2015 (EDT)
...Nutta has a point. Aidanzapunksignature.pngAidan, Master of Speed and AuraAidanzapunkSignaturesmall.PNG 16:44, 27 May 2015 (EDT)
We're using a placeholder Lucas head icon because there will be an official one to replace it with. That's not the case here, and we can approximate these very closely without the hassle or the future-commitment of uploading special head icons only for this page. Miles (talk) 16:45, 27 May 2015 (EDT)
Fire Mario is not "very close" to Silver Mario, there's a large difference. Also, as far as I can see, you are the only one who still solely supports the current system, so we should probably go with one of the new ones- either fanmade heads, or a footnote. I lean towards footnote. ---Preceding unsigned comment added by you. Or maybe Nutta. 16:50, 27 May 2015 (EDT)

On restocks

On a side note, restocks don't matter. Let me actually explain it though...

1. Restocks cannot be kept track of. For instance, Lucario recently got an unannounced, minor, obscure, confirmed restock. These are not easy to keep track of and pile up fast.
2. Every amiibo (except for MAYBE Gold and Silver Mario) has an announced restock, has had a restock, or WILL have a restock. Making the statement pointless.
3. Restocks are implied for every product, unless they're specified to be limited edition.

Now, discontinuations, if and when they come, would be notable enough to mention, but seeing how no amiibo has been officially discontinued by Nintendo, we need not worry about it right now. Laikue (talk | contribs) 22:33, 18 May 2015 (EDT)

But Marth, Ike, King Dedede, Meta Knight and Shulk I believe are all getting official restocks. Nintenzilla (talk) 07:43, 19 May 2015 (EDT)

Actually I have another question, I remember on Reddit someone said that they'd found that Bayonetta 2 would have Amiibo compatibility. I also remember rumors of Xenoblade Chronicles X would have Amiibo compatibility too. Now I'm confused, is there any reason Nintendo opted out for Amiibo on these games? Nintenzilla (talk) 09:07, 19 May 2015 (EDT)

I doubt Bayo 2 would have amiibo. I don't really see any reason why they'd be useful. And if it's a rumor you heard about XCX, it's automatically speculation. Aidanzapunksignature.pngAidan, Master of Speed and AuraAidanzapunkSignaturesmall.PNG 09:34, 19 May 2015 (EDT)

I have absolutely no idea what the Xenoblade Amiibo would do. Nintenzilla (talk) 09:58, 19 May 2015 (EDT)
Also another reason why the rumors started was because the director of Xenoblade Chronicles had some sort of interest in making a series of Amiibo based off the first game, so people were saying that they could factor into the new game in some sort of way. Legit prototypes pop up all the time on the site that originated from. There are also R.O.B., Palutena, and other released character prototypes that have popped up. Prototype Skylanders pop-up constantly as well. I have no reason to doubt this is legit.

However, there have been a few cases where fake prototypes were on the site, so it's probably best to avoid making ourselves look like asses and just wait for the amiibo to be announced (after all, we're already technically confirmed to be getting every character as amiibo) Laikue (talk | contribs) 01:58, 20 May 2015 (EDT)

Yoshi's Woolly World amiibo support

Confirmed to have 40+ compatible amiibo.

However, according to eurogamer, the only amiibo not compatible are the Pokemon amiibo and Toad. (Source) I don't think we should list it yet, but it's worth noting here.

Also, Standard Yoshi is confirmed to do this. There was a better source for it, but I can't find it right now. Laikue (talk | contribs) 11:58, 26 May 2015 (EDT)

Yep, that's the source alright. Nintenzilla (talk) 12:16, 28 May 2015 (EDT)

Doesn't count unless they specify which ones are compatible exactly. Miles (talk) 16:13, 28 May 2015 (EDT)

Animal Crossing Amiibo

Apparently the Animal Crossing Amiibo all read as Villager in other games, your thoughts? Nintenzilla (talk) 21:44, 26 May 2015 (EDT)

And your source for that is...? Miles (talk) 21:47, 26 May 2015 (EDT)
Mario Kart 8. In the files, and in-game. Nintenzilla (talk) 21:48, 26 May 2015 (EDT)
You see, in Mario Kart 8, it reads any specific Animal Crossing Character, not just Villager. Nintenzilla (talk) 21:52, 26 May 2015 (EDT)
And how does this affect our coverage? It's not a new game compatible with the Smash Villager amiibo, nor is it a non-Smash amiibo compatible with Smash. Miles (talk) 21:54, 26 May 2015 (EDT)
But the Animal Crossing Amiibos aren't Smash Bros Amiibo. Nintenzilla (talk) 21:57, 26 May 2015 (EDT)
Nintenzilla, give an actual source. It's a theory, not a fact. In-game it's called an Animal Crossing suit because it's based on Animal Crossing, not the Villager himself. Laikue (talk | contribs) 21:59, 26 May 2015 (EDT)

(Reset indent) Damn, I can never find the source can I? Here's the thing, it can't just be based off Villager, look at the icon, it also has Isabelle on it, she also has an Amiibo, so that could mean the same thing. I don't know anymore! But one thing I do know is that Tom Nook is getting an Amiibo. That was known wasn't it? Nintenzilla (talk) 22:03, 26 May 2015 (EDT)

My point is that a non-Smash amiibo being compatible with a non-Smash game isn't in our scope. Miles (talk) 22:07, 26 May 2015 (EDT)

Yoshi in YWW

No Falco in September

http://www.nintendo.com/amiibo/detail/lcmuji-eyH9hNhru1Ud1Yq9WXrh7XOps

Not only was Falco the one non-DLC amiibo announced today not shown in the "we're releasing in September" shot, but the page linked above gives his release as "This holiday" (ROB, G&W, Duck Hunt, and the Miis all say "September"). I don't think he's really part of the American wave 6. --24.17.78.180 19:26, 14 June 2015 (EDT)

Yep, I was wrong. Good catch. Miles (talk) 19:36, 14 June 2015 (EDT)

Falco and G&W

On the character lineup page on the official amiibo website, Falco and G&W are said to be scheduled for release in "June 2015" and don't have the "coming soon" note all other future amiibo do. Whether or not this is true, is it notable that the website is wrong? ---Preceding unsigned comment added by you. Or maybe Nutta. 16:09, 15 June 2015 (EDT)

I kind of get the impression that the amiibo page is rather sloppily updated whenever there's new announcements. I'm not sure it's notable in particular that there are errors or contradictory statements about stuff like this. That said, it would be a good thing if we could get a clearer picture of what's actually releasing when... Miles (talk) 16:11, 15 June 2015 (EDT)
If you click their images, it says their release dates are "This holiday" and "September" respectively. Laikue (talk | contribs) 16:14, 15 June 2015 (EDT)
That's what I thought (and again, I knew it wasn't true), but I wanted to know if we should note that the website has it listed incorrectly. ---Preceding unsigned comment added by you. Or maybe Nutta. 16:17, 15 June 2015 (EDT)

Super Mario Maker?

Can we not just add it with Wii Fit Trainer? We have definite confirmation of her. ---Preceding unsigned comment added by you. Or maybe Nutta. 18:13, 16 June 2015 (EDT)

Exactly. We didn't need a combatibility chart for Yoshi's Woolly World. Nyargleblargle (Talk) 18:21, 16 June 2015 (EDT)

Skylanders amiibo

They function the exact same way as amiibo once the base is twisted, so I don't see the difference between them and normal amiibo. JamesJH-Heartless.pngHeart 19:37, 16 June 2015 (EDT)

I added it back because it's effectively a different style of amiibo once the base is twisted, like Super Mario/Yoshi's Woolly World/whatever example you want to use. ---Preceding unsigned comment added by you. Or maybe Nutta. 19:41, 16 June 2015 (EDT)

Skylanders and Mario Maker

We know for a fact that Wii Fit Trainer works with Mario Maker. They said it. We should have that listed.

The Skylanders they confirmed could be twisted to work exactly like amiibo. This seems to very clearly imply that they work exactly like amiibo. Actually, no, it doesn't imply. It says it. Flat-out. They are just like normal Bowser/DK amiibo. ---Preceding unsigned comment added by you. Or maybe Nutta. 20:51, 16 June 2015 (EDT)

Yes. This stuff was flat-out confirmed in the Direct. So, what is the issue? JamesJH-Heartless.pngHeart 10:13, 17 June 2015 (EDT)

We don't need to mention Skylanders, since it's not compatible with the Smash amiibo. We should list Mario Maker though. Laikue (talk | contribs) 11:46, 17 June 2015 (EDT)

Yes, but we do need to list the Skylanders series of amiibo (Bowser and Donkey Kong). The special Skylanders Bowser/DK function with Smash, although the Smash Bowser/DK do not function with Skylanders. ---Preceding unsigned comment added by you. Or maybe Nutta. 12:01, 17 June 2015 (EDT)

Until we have specific confirmation that these have anything to do with Smash, we should hold off on reporting on them. Miles (talk) 12:50, 17 June 2015 (EDT)

They said that they work just like Bowser and DK amiibo when twisted. How is that not "specific confirmation"? ---Preceding unsigned comment added by you. Or maybe Nutta. 12:52, 17 June 2015 (EDT)
And again, there's no reason to hide Mario Maker when we have specific confirmation (even more specific than Bowser/DK) that Wii Fit Trainer will work. The fact that Link/Luigi/Marth remain unclear is no reason to leave out official information. Did you even watch these portions of the Digital Event...? ---Preceding unsigned comment added by you. Or maybe Nutta. 12:53, 17 June 2015 (EDT)
Yes, I watched it. While it's obviously implied that they will work, it is not confirmed that they will work. That distinction matters. I can't find any source on the amiibo or Skylanders websites showing their compatibility as an amiibo, nor can I find a list that outright says "so-and-so works in Super Mario Maker". I've been looking, too. Miles (talk) 12:56, 17 June 2015 (EDT)
We don't need a full list, they specifically said (and showed) Wii Fit Trainer works (well, they didn't scan her in, but they showed her once she's been scanned in). I can understand leaving out Luigi/Link/Marth because they were unclear to if that was actually them functioning or just a way of showing what's next, but they actually said "amiibo like Wii Fit Trainer" will work in the game.
The Skylanders still seem stupid to me... they said they would work just like amiibo, so if we can include the Yarn Yoshis I don't see why we can't include them. But, at least it's a semi-logical reason. ---Preceding unsigned comment added by you. Or maybe Nutta. 12:58, 17 June 2015 (EDT)
The Yarn Yoshi are listed because they're confirmed compatible with Smash. As for WFT, that's why I had it sitting hidden there; I assume we'll get a more complete list on Super Mario Maker in the near future and it won't end up being much of a delay of information. Miles (talk) 13:05, 17 June 2015 (EDT)
But why make it a delay of information at all? And we had the Yarn Yoshi before they were confirmed, which is what I was referring to. ---Preceding unsigned comment added by you. Or maybe Nutta. 13:07, 17 June 2015 (EDT)
I was confirmed by an alternate source, NoE, I believe. Laikue (talk | contribs) 13:09, 17 June 2015 (EDT)
Better to be late in reporting something than to be wrong. Miles (talk) 13:33, 17 June 2015 (EDT)
except we have official confirmation. They specifically said WFT worked and showed her working. there is no way we will be wrong, it's reporting something late for no reason at all. Encyclopedias take information and use it, not ignore it because there's a 1/100 chance they might be wrong. ---Preceding unsigned comment added by you. Or maybe Nutta. 13:35, 17 June 2015 (EDT)

amiibo numbers in the series

In my area, instead of displaying age 6+ on the top-right of the box, it shows a number for each character. Mario is No. 1, Yoshi is No. 3, and Ness is No. 34. I'm not sure if it says this on any part of the box in other regions. Is it okay that when we learn every amiibo's number in the series, we put it in that order? 1-12 is Wave 1, 13-18 is Wave 2, 19-29 is Wave 3, 30-37 is Wave 4, and so on. --ComJay (talk) 07:29, 8 July 2015 (EDT)

Yeah. I personally think it's probably the real deal, but it wouldn't be out of the question to fake something like that if one were so inclined. Won't hurt to wait until we see official confirmation. Miles (talk) 15:55, 9 July 2015 (EDT)

I'm sorry, but this is stupid

Why can we not add Super Mario Maker? We have videos (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yW4kCY7pc4o, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xfzDu3P0iYI, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vbeOoo3CPos), most notable of which is the DIGITAL EVENT (which, although wasn't clear on Link/Luigi/Marth/Isabelle/etc., outright stated Wii Fit Trainer is compatible). Waiting for an official list is absolutely stupid when we already have video proof for these, and as per SW:NEWGAME (which, i know, was specifically for the SSB4 release, but it's still a nice guideline even if not official), that's perfectly usable. ---Preceding unsigned comment added by you. Or maybe Nutta. 17:56, 23 July 2015 (EDT)

I have to agree. We probably won't receive a full list for weeks, and we can't just ignore the title until then. Nyargleblargle (Talk) 18:32, 23 July 2015 (EDT)

I have to agree too it is stupid... also it seems that 80 or more amiibo will be compatible with Super Mario Maker...178.167.254.46 07:47, 24 July 2015 (EDT)
