:I'm not sure if the difference should be listed in this article since it is a custom move. It's also the only time that the default special move is the exact same as another character, but one of its variations is slightly different. If it's a rare exception like you said, maybe it would still be all right since there's no other case like this with any other character and this would be the only time. But I guess I'm not sure if it really should go on the list since I haven't read the policy for new information in its entirety.

== Palette Swap Trivia ==
Yes, Pittoo was inspired by Pit's black colour swap. However, that black colour swap was not intended to represent Pittoo, as Uprising did not exist at the time of Brawl's release. Meanwhile, using Mario's yellow colour scheme as an example, Wario had existed for several years at the time of SSB64, so the colour scheme is a clear homage to him. You can't say the same for Pittoo--and the fact that Wario was added to Smash first means the trivia is incorrect anyway. Also, there are design differences--Pittoo has gold highlights on his outfit and a golden laurel where the Brawl palette has black only. This trivia note is inaccurate on multiple levels and that is why I have objected to it. --NinjaCoachZ (talk) 19:32, 21 February 2015 (EST)

In Kid Icarus Uprising Dark Pit uses the Lightning Chariot to defeat a boss, or rack up powerful damage, kind of like how Pit uses the Three Sacred Treasures, he only uses the staff a total of one time to snipe Pit from a cliff, so it would be expected that with Pit's Final Smash Dark Pit's would be the Lightning Chariot. It makes almost no sense for him to be using the staff for his Final Smash due to the fact that in that game he only uses it once. The Lightning Chariot makes much more sense as a Final Smash due to him using it more than once and it being more polished. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Nintenzilla (talk • contribs) 10:59, March 27, 2015

The Smash Bros website never does these kinds of things. It's not just because he's a secret character, Duck Hunt and Bowser Jr. are listed as Newcomers and they're both secret, I also kind of agree with the site, since Dark Pit was a costume in Brawl that does technically make him a veteran. ::::This "if" question gets us nowhere. Koopalings are very clearly not separate characters, but rather costume/pallet swaps of Bowser Jr., exactly what Dark Pit (who, as Aidan pointed out, didn't exist in Brawl's time.) is. Palutena's trailer is listed as Palutena and Dark Pit's on List of Super Smash Bros. 4 character trailers. Furthermore, "proper" is incredibly subjective and unencyclopedic. Whether or not Dark Pit has a trailer or a "proper" trailer is up for debate, but he definitely does not have splash art. That is what should be listed. Differences from Pit section?[edit]
Should there be a section that goes over the differences between him and Pit? Need to have it somewhere and the only difference I've seen concrete is his final smash and maybe a different arm.Guybrush20X6 (talk) 17:57, 13 September 2014 (EDT)
- Sorry, left that unsigned. I found this game explain but outside of already discussed changes I can't see anything. Does he run slower of hav different knocback trajectories? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ytemODJGUuI Guybrush20X6 (talk) 17:57, 13 September 2014 (EDT)
His backair kills at the same percents as Pit, 130% against Marth on FD default position in training mode, who lives at 129% Page is locked so I can't edit 67.190.163.113 01:34, 12 October 2014 (EDT) Also his bair has a sweetspot, you do 12% if you landed it compared to 8%. More importantly, his ftilt is definitely weaker than pit's. Pit's kills at 127 sweetspot (10% damage dealt) and 177 nonsweetspot (7%) and dark pit kills at 156/215 67.190.163.113 01:47, 12 October 2014 (EDT)
New to editing Wiki pages, but most of Dark Pit's "differences" info is flat-out incorrect. Pit and Dark Pit share the EXACT same recovery distance, movement speed, and idle animation speed. The also share their 3-hit combo, forward throw, down smash, and back air strength, as well as a spike on their down air. They do, however, have different forward tilt strength, with Pit K.O.ing at the right side blast line from the CPU spawn point at 134%/183%, and Dark Pit at 161%/223%.
- I do believe what you're saying, although I'll wait for some second opinions before removing most of it. However I'm certain that Pit can meteor smash, and I never noticed any difference with the idle poses, so I'll remove those to start off with. Toast ltimatum 06:04, 14 October 2014 (EDT)
- I did a few tests to see which attacks were different. So far, it seems that Dark Pit's side tilt, neutral special, side special, and final smash are the only attacks that are different from Pit's attacks. 73.184.24.39 11:30, 16 October 2014 (EDT)
Can someone confirm if Dark Pit's Striking Flight does slightly more damage and slightly more knockback than Pit's does, as it says on the Power of Flight page? If it is one of the few differences between the two Pits, it should go into the Differences list, right?
- I'm not sure if the difference should be listed in this article since it is a custom move. It's also the only time that the default special move is the exact same as another character, but one of its variations is slightly different. LimitCrown (talk) 14:54, 14 November 2014 (EST)
