Deletion

Honestly, while I know this was deleted multiple times, I think this page have potential, as it is very common in places such as AiB or SWF(especially the "That Ain't Falco" line). There is also a .gif file(seen here). This is an encyclopedia for smash, and honestly, this is very relevant to smash.21:59, January 26, 2010 (UTC)

He wasn't talking to RAN, which was obvious when you consider the fact that RAN has no sysop powers which could be removed, which you yourself pointed out... And no, it's not really "abuse of bureaucratship" - if, by deleting the article, CHawk felt that the sysop in question had demonstrated that they were not competent enough to use the sysop powers, he would be well within his rights as a Bureaucrat to take their powers. Or let's not... The only thing that connects the two is that HMW was commenting on the match in which it took place. He wasn't responsible for the combo taking place, so it doesn't make sense to include it on his page. Seeing as it took two players to carry it out, it also wouldn't make sense to merge it with either smasher's page. The only option left is to keep the page as it is, which works out fine as the Wombo Combo is notable enough to deserve its own page anyway. So, as was previously decided, the page stays as it is. I fail to see how a meme or a video over a certain number of views merits an article unless we establish it as a standard that such articles merit existence. If that's the case, then what would you say of other very well-known things like the previously deleted Smashtasm, or else the infamous Brawl Taunts video(s)? Unlike Brawl taunts, the Wombo Combo is actual footage of a smash bros. game (SSBM) and it was in the very beginning a tourney match of Melee and then became a video, some smash boards and reward stuff, etc. I mean we have Brawl- as an article, why can't we have this? @Miles: Smashtasm is a fanon series, Brawl Taunts is essentially a fanon series as well. The Wombo Combo however, is an actual event that occurred in a tournament match has since became very famous, spawning derivatives and videos to relive that moment, eventually becoming its own meme and a defining moment of the Smash community. See why we have an article on the Wombo Combo and not on Smashtasm? The Wombo Combo simply isn't a random video uploaded on Youtube that became popular, stop treating it like it is. For the two series you brought up, they don't have articles because they are fanon. The Wombo Combo is a famous event that occurred of undeniable notability, and its notability is what got it its own article. It's in a different category from Smashtasm and Brawl Taunts, and thus we're not making any "exceptions" by having an article of it. Omega Tyrant 19:26, 24 February 2011 (EST)

Meme Run "cameo"

I'm not sure if this is worth noting but there's a recently released Wii U eShop game called "Meme Run". In said game, touching a red "52%" will use the screaming from the Wombo Combo video as well as the screen gets filled with 52% text, thus distracting the player. I don't know if this is worth a reference since the Wombo Combo screaming isn't directly Smash related. I just thought to get this your attention and your opinions.
