As Charizard, stand on one of the platforms. Hit your opponent with a loaded Up-Smash, jump to them and use Fly. This should always be a KO. The opponent is easy to launch, so this is a fairly easy battle.

But not everybody is good with Charizard (due to his lack in speed), so use Ivysaur instead.  His combination of power and speed with keep the CPU on his toes. A strategy for him involves grabbing your opponent near an edge, throw them off the arena, and quickly charge an up-smash attack. When your opponent comes back, he'll meet up with your up-smash.  If they have high damage, they'll be KO'ed

Become the Champion! is the 5th solo event match out of a total of 41 in Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

Herein, the player plays as Pokémon Trainer and must defeat another Pokémon Trainer in a 3 stock battle to become the "Pokémon Champion". The opponent rarely changes Pokémon, and a different Pokémon will respawn each time the opponent is KO'd. As a likely reference to a Pokémon battle, KO’d Pokémon are eliminated from the match and cannot be used again. Therefore, if a Trainer has only one Pokémon remaining, he is unable to use Pokémon Change.
