Among the oldest documented tournaments in France, Royal Treatment was, with 56 entrants, the largest tournament in Europe at the time. Format[edit]
Attendees were placed in pools of around 6 players. Top 3 of each pool advanced to the Top 24 double-elimination bracket, with those who placed 3rd starting in the Losers bracket.
