Sameki (鮫木) is the former main tournament organizer and commentator for the single-elimination Japanese online tournament series Tamisuma since its debut back in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U around late 2014 which was prior to the existence of the Smashmate website. It was known to be the longest running and among the most prestigious online tournament series in Japan along with Maesuma where the total number of participants had exceeded 150,000 for Tamisuma. The series had ultimately ended at its 568th iteration for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Besides the usual singles format, there were also popular "Gaiden" brackets that include "Heavyweights only", "No use of the same character", and "Amateur cup"/"Semi-pro cup" similar to an Arcadian format.

Tournaments organized[edit]

  • Tamisuma SP 261 and Tamisuma SP 265 - both of these iterations reached 512 entrants which was the largest of all time
  • Tamisuma Championship series - Only players who met specific participation requirements were allowed to enter. Such as being ranked on a Smashmate season or having a top 2 placement in numbered Tamisuma iterations
  • MaeTami Summer Festival - a collaboration between Maesuma and Tamisuma
  • Voyage - another collboration between Maesuma and Tamisuma which involved a culmination of four qualifying tournaments where the top 8 of each participated in the finals. Each qualifiers had 512 entrants
