Kagaribi 5 was a Super Smash Bros. Ultimate supermajor held in Tokyo, Japan, from October 30th-31st, 2021. It was initially scheduled for July 31st, but a state of emergency in Tokyo from a COVID-19 outbreak caused it to be delayed to August 29th, then to October 31st.[1][2] Just like Kagaribi 4, it held all Japanese PGR players attending except for T, Kuro, and Ron and was the biggest Japanese tournament since EVO Japan 2020. The tournament is notable for being the first and currently the only major ever won by Sora, who was released only a couple weeks earlier.
