Captain L is a Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Sheik main from British Columbia. He initially played Pichu and Pikachu, and was considered both characters' best player in Canada, defeating players such as WaDi, Puppeh, Mr. E, ScAtt, Fatality, Eon, and Big D. Captain L is currently ranked 4th on the Smash Canada Rankings Ultimate and 7th on the British Columbia Ultimate Power Rankings, and was formerly ranked 50th on the Spring 2019 PGRU.

In Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, Captain L was a Pikachu main, considered the second best Pikachu player in the world, after ESAM. Captain L consistently placed top 3 in the Pacific Northwest region, and has defeated players such as MkLeo, Tweek, Mr.R, Mistake, ESAM, Marss, and Lima. He is also known for being one of the best Jigglypuff players in the world, having used it alongside Pikachu to defeat several notable players, most notably Larry Lurr at Vancouver Battle Royale - Spring Championship. He is currently ranked 2nd on the Canada Smash Ranking, 2nd on the Official British Columbia Power Rankings, and 79th on the Panda Global Rankings 100.

Captain L is known for his use of the Bidou control scheme, and popularizing use of the Arduino GameCube Controller to assist labbers and improve Training Mode for players.

Play style[edit]

As Pikachu, Captain L employs a defensive playstyle where he uses well-placed Thunder Jolts to harass and goad opponents into approaching. He has a number of matches go to time, with most of said timeouts resulting in his win. Despite this, he has a top-notch combo game. He has a great deal of consistency with Pikachu's up throw into Thunder kill combo. As Sheik, he is known for his technical and combo-heavy playstyle, using a Smashbox controller to showcase a wide variety of combo tools, and Needle Storm movement and pressure. His Jigglypuff is also known for its surprising combo game and rest reads.
