Hamyojo is a Melee Sheik main based in McKinney, Texas sponsored by FX Game Exchange. Hamyojo was formerly known as one of Melee's few Yoshi mains until his switch to his current main Sheik in 2015. Hamyojo also saw success with Yoshi in Project M 3.5. During this time, Hamyojo was recognized as Project M's best Yoshi main having achieved wins over Sethlon, Strong Bad, and Luck.
Though seemingly not yet recognized as a national threat in the melee scene, Hamyojo is a very present threat in Texas where he has bested other top Texas players such as Mojo, Mouf, Thoraxe, Pit, Albert, Jake13, and SFOP. Hamyojo has been known to sandbag using a variety of characters and stages in round 1 of locals. Hamyojo is also infamous for his timeout of DFW Ness main Nihlus at Monday Night Melee 44.
Hamyojo's success in local and regional tournaments has led to his recognition as the 8th best player in the April-June 2016 Central Texas Power Rankings.
While Hamyojo attends a number of events both as a contestant and a spectator, he is very active in a number of local and online communities advocating casual gameplay. While the odd contradiction between the two is clearly visible, he insists that he is a very casual gamer and would rather spend his time petting dogs and daydreaming about Judy Hopps.
