They are more effective in the latter than the former. After being thrown, they "waddle" across the stage, and will occasionally unleash weak attacks. If a Waddle Dee approaches a ledge, it will squat, and then jump off.  During King Dedede's Final Smash the [[Waddle Dee Army]] actively attacks. During the Subspace Emissary the Waddle are used to capture [[Luigi]]. The Waddle Dee carry King Dedede on a palanquin during his entrance.
