Yeah, yeah, I know, I got bored and I wanted to keep a compilation on SmashWiki through a userpage since it's not mainspace-worthy as far as I know, so basically all it has is novelty value, but anyway, this is a list of all live action and animated movies/short movies that the various Super Smash Bros. fighters have appeared in. This will include everything from the earliest known ones, all the way to ones that have been announced but currently have no release date. I will try to keep this list as up to date as I possibly can, but since I don't keep up with movie news all the time, it'll be kind of difficult for me at times. Fanmade movies, no matter how notable, will not be added, unless the creators of the franchise gave their consent on making it. If you see a character's first appearance on a movie but don't see a notice about it, check the bottom in the Movie Shorts category, because they may have appeared there first. There is also a list of cancelled projects, which contains a list of movies that almost saw the light of day, but were cancelled due to various reasons (i.e. creative differences, the first movie flopped, etc.). I'm not entirely resourceful when it comes to looking for movies that did go into production but were cancelled, so if you know of any, please let me know and give me some good sources that proves that it existed and I'll add it to the list.

Super Mario Bros.	TBD	Mario	I apparently missed the memo, but apparently on December 2014, Sony Pictures is managing to slowly get the rights from Nintendo to create an animated remake of the film, with Avi Arad being involved. Let's just hope this time it goes right if it gets made....

Cancelled Movies

Super Mario Bros. 2	N/A	Mario, Luigi	While not outright confirmed, a sequel was hinted at the end of the first movie, but would've been ultimately dropped due to the critical failure of the first movie.
The Legend of Zelda	Cancelled by 2007	Link, Zelda	Would've been the first movie appearance for Link and Zelda. In 2007, Imagi Animation Studios, who provided the animation for TMNT and Astro Boy, created a pitch reel for a computer-animated Legend of Zelda movie, though Nintendo didn't take the studio up on their offer due to the failure of the live-action movie adaption of Super Mario Bros.
Metroid	Cancelled by 2007	Samus Aran	Would've been the first movie appearance for Samus. The movie was first agreed upon in 2003 with Nintendo being on board, but was cancelled sometime in 2007 due to Nintendo not having a good grasp of Samus's origin at the time, and didn't feel comfortable with the production team being in charge of creating her origin due to the commercial flop known as Super Mario Bros.
