The Skill parameter has been removed from Smasher infoboxes, and in its place are the new "Best historical ranking" and "Best tournament result" parameters. SmashWiki needs help adding these new parameters to Smasher infoboxes, refer to the guidelines here for what should be included in these new parameters. |
When adding results to Smasher pages, include each tournament's entrant number in addition to the player's placement, and use the {{Trn}} template with the matching game specified. Please also fix old results on Smasher pages that do not abide to this standard. Refer to our Smasher article guidelines to see how results tables should be formatted. |

Captain Falcon was confirmed on July 14, 2014 to be a returning character for Super Smash Bros. 4, the same date that F-Zero X was released for the Nintendo 64 in Japan in 1998. He was revealed in a newcomer trailer for Lucina and Robin. His appearance has been upgraded since his last appearance.
Changes from Brawl
Being considered one of the worst characters in Brawl, Captain Falcon has been buffed up, but not without a few nerfs.
Falcon Punch now moves Captain Falcon a fair distance forwards, improving the move's range.
Raptor Boost has been buffed again. It deals more damage, covers more range, and has gained more KO power.
Neutral attack 3 has been strengthened.
Back throw has received more KO power. It also deals 1% more damage.
Falcon Dive has a much faster startup, and covers more distance while losing less momentum.
Forward aerial (Knee Smash) is buffed.
Down throw deals slightly less damage.
Up tilt sends opponents at a higher trajectory, weakening its use as a KO move but enhancing its combo utility.
Down tilt sends opponents at a more horizontal trajectory, weakening its use as a combo move but allowing it to set up edgeguards earlier.
Falcon Dive has more intense visual effects.

Final Smash | Blue Falcon | - | - |
Final Smash
- Blue Falcon - Captain Falcon calls in the Blue Falcon, which crashes through the stage in front of Captain Falcon. Whoever it hits when it first appears will be hit by the rest of the move. Characters who are not hit will stay in place until the end of the smash. A short cutscene appears, and the opponents are run over and sent flying, doing about 40% damage if every part of the attack hits and has high knockback. Like certain other Final Smashes, if no one is hit when the Blue Falcon appears, then the attack fails.
Taunts
- Faces the camera, salutes and exclaims "Show me your moves!".
- Charges himself up with fire, similar to a Falcon Punch.
- Holds out his hand and challenges, "Come on!".
On-Screen Appearance
The Blue Falcon spins to a stop, Captain Falcon jumps out, and then Blue Falcon speeds off.
Victory Fanfare
An electric guitar-based cover of the short track that would play when a character finished a race in F-Zero GX.
