Xyro first started playing Smash in 2001. Soon after, he gained prominence as a tournament host in the Houston smash scene. He is best known for his HOBO (which stands for '''H'''ouston's '''O'''fficial '''B'''rawl '''O'''rganization) tournament series, which began in April 2008.<ref>http://www.smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=142123</ref> Even before {{SSBB|Meta Knight}} was banned by the [[Unity Ruleset Committee]], Xyro has held many HOBOs where Meta Knight was not allowed. The World HOBO tournament series, the first of which was held in April 2009, is an annual offshoot of HOBO which attracts smashers from other regions. As of August 2013, Xyro has hosted 40 HOBOs and 5 WHOBOs, with [[WHOBO 5|the most recent]] being held on October 19-20, 2013. Despite wanting to retire on August 2012 after [[WHOBO 4]], numerous people encouraged Xyro to return to hosting the series again. Thus, Xyro has returned to the ''Brawl'' scene in March 2013 with the thirty-ninth and fortieth HOBOs and WHOBO 5, as well as the upcoming [[WHOBO 6]].
