Hello, I'm nothing more than your god the guy who excels at Project M articles and AI bullying. Well, that's the best I do for now.

When I was little, in early 1998, we got out first console as a Christmas present: a Nintendo SIXTY-FOOOOOOUR 64. It came with Super Mario 64 as you expect, and later we got Banjo-Kazooie, Pokémon Stadium, Mario Party, godly Smash 64, and a ton other games that marked childhoods. My brother loved to mess up with these games, and even though I was little, I liked it and learned playing them gradually with just 4 years: I could pass the first levels of SM64 and BK with no problem. Then I grew up and started playing the competitive games more often; I used to play Smash 64 and many others with my friends, and we enjoyed it so much. Later, in 2002, I received my GameCube with Melee, and since then it became my favorite Nintendo game ever. Years later I got Brawl, and I'm now waiting for the next Super Smash Bros. game. I just hope they give the newcomers balanced movesets and good attack ideas. though I doubt if I would ever play Smash 4, as Project M has impressed me a lot, while the former is just recycling things from the noobish vanilla Brawl, keeping useless moves like this and not changing OP characters like this and this.

Skillz

Well, all of we started as what they call a n3wB13. And yes, I not only played SSB64 from a very early age, but still after some years later I was terrible. I relied on items to beat CPUs, and I stupidly spammed techniques like Stone and Thunder, or the chidlishly-spammed smash attacks. As you may think, I commited the awful mistake of fighting against Level 9s just because "they are the strongest enemies"; with that sh***y skill and having no idea about AI flaws. And it was a similar thing for Melee. The most stupid thing is that, not only I just choosed characters that I liked and ended up using horribly, but... I did not even grab nor shield!! We were a shame for all Smash competitors, but we didn't care bout it since we were all that terrible.

But soon, I changed my mind. After playing enough of other Nintendo games, and knowing abut some other fighting games, I decided to become more of a better fighter at Smash. Not only glitches, easter eggs, trophies, Very Hard completions... I started to properly use shields and related techniques, and grabs are now a crucial part of my metagame with my mains. I easily mastered alternate recoveries, dodges, aerial attacks, and made better use of smashes and specials. Then I mastered chaingrabbing, L-canceling, edge-guarding, teching, SHFFing... and finally said good-bye to items. Try facing my Melee/PM Captain Falcon; while I used to spam Falcon Punches and Kicks, now you will be easily nipple-spiked after receiving ten Knees to the face. Not to mention any fastfallers will hurt themselves in confusion against his throws. And it's much better with Marth.

I also know DI, SDI and wavedashing, though I haven't mastered these things 100%. Other notes about my skillz are:

  • I mostly dash cancel with up/down smash (or aerial if these are unviable).
  • Often punishes with grabs.
  • Excels at walls of pain with Kirby/Jigglypuff.
  • Likes to edge-guard with spikes.
  • Good at edge-hogging.
  • Ocassionally fails at teching due to freak-outs with shield button.
  • When it's about characters, prefers speed over size.
  • Good sidestepping reflexes (though not as monstrous as the Brawl AI's).
  • Dislikes unfair play: avoids to camp/plank excessively or run away.
  • A dedicated player that likes bringing humour to even the most serious battles, in the way he can, not in degenerate ways. Well, at least when he's not losing in a nonsensical way.
  • Likes to mock players with taunt/teeter canceling.
  • NOT GONNA SPOIL YOU ANYMORE. Oh, and just saying: I don't play Brawl competitively anymore. Just Project M. Though sometimes I still drop to play Smash 64, or mess up with the original Melee.

Contributions

Due to erratic sleeping patterns, this user can appear contributing or under your bed in the IRC at any moment.

Actually, this user spends most of his time cleaning up and completing Project M articles. You can Brawl Smash with me in it at any moment you want. Other contribs are situational, mostly minor but sometimes as large as these. I also helped with the MH glitch and AI articles, to the point they became featured.
