Sonic (SSB4)

Sonic (ソニック) will be a playable character in Super Smash Bros. 4. He was announced during the Nintendo Direct in October, in celebration of Sonic Lost World being released in the same month. His appearance is slightly based off of his Classic model in Sonic Generations, as his fur is lighter. The official website also refers to Sonic by the full name Sonic the Hedgehog.

Trivia

  • Sonic is the first third party character to appear in more than one Smash game.
  • Whereas Sonic's model in Brawl showed him with a centered mouth, his mouth is now on the side of his face, reminiscent of his non-Smash appearances.
