A particular event that sparked outrage amongst the community was when Nintendo attempted to block the streaming for Melee at the tournament mere days before it was to begin. However, due to extreme community backlash, Nintendo withdrew their attempt hours later. It was later revealed that Nintendo was also attempting to shut down the Melee portion of the tournament altogether.
