I suggest you stop with the pointless "Oh SHIT" and "WHAT THE FUCK" posts, and to stop acting like a bloody twit. We get it, you're the FCC, now please stop trying to cleanse our mouths. It's called society, ever heard of it? We can say "Fuck" and any other swear word as long as we're not insulting anyone and using it several times on purpose. If you're going to censor your comments, use * not COPYRIGHT or ONE. SmashPeter: Rules for the Talk Page
- No swearing, especially not the use of the following bad words: the F-word, the longer B-word, or the C-word, the worst word of all bad words. However, just because you use a bad word that isn't one of those words does not mean you aren't swearing. Even the mildest bad word, the P-word, is not allowed.
- No vandalism, trolling or spamming.
- No threats.
- Do not edit other user's comments, except if you have a point that you absolutely have to add.
- In addition to the bad words, do not use any words considered offensive in British English.
- Do not upload any offensive or abusive material to pages related to me, especially not to get me into trouble.
- Do not give me a warning or last warning if I do not deserve it.
- Do not say things about me like "SmashPeter should never ever be an admin. He should just be blocked infinitely,".
If you break my rules, you will get a warning. Breaking rules 6 or 8 will get you a last warning.
Hi there!
Welcome to our wiki, and thank you for your contributions! There's a lot to do around here, so I hope you'll stay with us and make many more improvements.
- Recent changes is a great first stop, because you can see what other people are editing right this minute, and where you can help.
- Please sign in, if you haven't already, and create a user name! It's free, and it'll help you keep track of all your edits. See Help:Why create an account for more info on creating an account.
- Questions? You can ask at the Help desk or on the "discussion" page associated with each article, or post a message on my talk page!
- Need help? The Community Portal has an outline of the site, and pages to help you learn how to edit.
I'm really happy to have you here, and look forward to working with you!
Would you like a smasherbeta?
That thing you see on other userpages with info like name, mains, etc. Forbidden7 PK AWESOME! 10:52, 24 July 2011 (EDT)
This...
...also counts for game names.--PSIWolf (T • C • E) 09:09, 25 July 2011 (EDT)
When someone posts on your talk page
Respond to them here, not on their talk page. Conversations on this Wiki are expected to be in one place. Also, you can make a note at the beginning of the article about a game series that they go by another name elsewhere, but it's unnecessary to have that mention everywhere in the article the series' name is brought up, and unacceptable to make an edit just replacing the US name with the foreign name. Omega Tyrant 12:03, 25 July 2011 (EDT)
- Foreign? Tyrant, I'm British. That's the American name! That's the one that's foreign!!! SmashPeter (talk) 12:20, 25 July 2011 (EDT)
- Unfortunately for you Europeans, most of this wiki's traffic and userbase is from the US, so things like game names have to use the American name as the primary one. Toomai Glittershine The Metroid 13:08, 25 July 2011 (EDT)
Your rules
1. You can't forbid users from using "bad words" on your talkpage when the Wiki does not disallow their use.
2. Regardless of if "you have a point that you absolutely have to add", you can never edit another user's comment unless you're adding an unsigned signature template to an unsigned comment, or if you're moving the comment to a more appropriate place.
3. You can't tell other users that they cannot warn you, regardless of if it's "deserved" or not.
4. Unless a user is doing something on your talk page that is legitimately violating SmashWiki policy, your "warnings" are empty, and in the case they are, SmashWiki staff will be the ones to do something about it.
I'll also point out having "rules" for your talkpage is pointless, as a user will only face disciplinary action only if they violate SmashWiki policies, not when they break your "rules". Omega Tyrant 16:56, 25 July 2011 (EDT)
- Why should I get rid of my rules? They're good rules! You have to admit it, so you might as well admit it now! Do you tolerate any bad words on YOUR talkpage? Do you tolerate people saying you should be blocked infinitely? Well, what do you have to say about that? SmashPeter (talk) 07:38, 26 July 2011 (EDT)
- HOW COME YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT BAD WORDS ARE???!!! SmashPeter (talk) 07:42, 26 July 2011 (EDT)
- Didn't he clearly explain about the rules on your talk page? To summarise, "bad words" are allowed on the wiki. Your talk page is part of the wiki; ergo, "bad words" are allowed on your talk page. There however isn't anything wrong with simply discouraging it. Furthermore, anyone who feels like saying that he should be blocked indefinitely has the right to express that. It would be an extremely stupid and completely unjustified utterance, but not allowing that would be censorship. – SmiddleT 08:16, 26 July 2011 (EDT)
- Also, please respond to messages where they've originally been posted. – SmiddleT 08:17, 26 July 2011 (EDT)
- Basically what Smiddle said. Your talkpage is a part of the Wiki, and goes by the Wiki's posting rules, not your own. As such, users cannot face disciplinary action for breaking your "rules" if they didn't break the Wiki's posting rules, essentially making your own threats about it empty. You can have guidelines discouraging saying "bad words" or something if you wish to, but any sort of rules you try to impose on your talkpage will hold no water. And for the record, I don't give a shit if people swear anywhere on the Wiki, including my talkpage, and no user is going to say you should be permabanned, unless it's an admin giving you a legitimate warning for seriously fucking up.
Tyrant, you are aware that you said the S-word and the F-word there, and I'm very strict about the F-word on this talk page. SmashPeter (talk) 11:32, 26 July 2011 (EDT)
- Yes, and as said before, you cannot censor their use as SmashWiki does not forbid them. Omega Tyrant 11:33, 26 July 2011 (EDT)
OH, S-H-ONE-T! SmashPeter (talk) 11:38, 26 July 2011 (EDT)
- The comment above was pretty damn pointless. Forbidden7 PK AWESOME! 11:48, 26 July 2011 (EDT)

WHAT THE F-U-COPYRIGHT-K ARE YOU DOING! SmashPeter (talk) 12:22, 26 July 2011 (EDT)
- They can still be there, as long as it's understood that they're essentially pointless. By the way, SmashPeter, I think people are actually more likely to swear if you tell them not to. – SmiddleT 12:20, 26 July 2011 (EDT)
- They're not shit rules. They're just not backed up by policy. I could say "fuck" for instance and you couldn't do anything about it. If you censor it, you are essentially breaking policies by changing my talk page comment. But the rules aren't bad, there's just no chance of them getting backed up. ☆The Solar Dragon☆ 12:32, 26 July 2011 (EDT)
- Best you could do is start a discussion here about making your talk page rules the official rules of SmashWiki talk pages. That's the only way these rules are actually going to mean anything. ☆The Solar Dragon☆ 12:36, 26 July 2011 (EDT)
