FREEZE! You have just entered the talkpage of one of the very, very, very, 8 more verys, very few Brits on this site! Watch what you put on my talkpage, but put whatever you want to say! Personal attacks will result in punishment!
Hi there!
Welcome to our wiki, and thank you for your contributions! There's a lot to do around here, so I hope you'll stay with us and make many more improvements.
- Recent changes is a great first stop, because you can see what other people are editing right this minute, and where you can help.
- Please sign in, if you haven't already, and create a user name! It's free, and it'll help you keep track of all your edits. See SmashWiki:Why create an account? for more info on creating an account.
- Questions? You can ask at the Help desk or on the "discussion" page associated with each article, or post a message on my talk page!
- Need help? The Community Portal has an outline of the site, and pages to help you learn how to edit.
I'm really happy to have you here, and look forward to working with you!
Would you like a smasherbeta?

When someone posts on your talk page
Respond to them here, not on their talk page. Conversations on this Wiki are expected to be in one place. Also, you can make a note at the beginning of the article about a game series that they go by another name elsewhere, but it's unnecessary to have that mention everywhere in the article the series' name is brought up, and unacceptable to make an edit just replacing the US name with the foreign name. Omega Tyrant 12:03, 25 July 2011 (EDT)
- Foreign? Tyrant, I'm British. That's the American name! That's the one that's foreign!!! SmashPeter (talk) 12:20, 25 July 2011 (EDT)
- Unfortunately for you Europeans, most of this wiki's traffic and userbase is from the US, so things like game names have to use the American name as the primary one. Toomai Glittershine The Metroid 13:08, 25 July 2011 (EDT)
Your rules
1. You can't forbid users from using "bad words" on your talkpage when the Wiki does not disallow their use.
2. Regardless of if "you have a point that you absolutely have to add", you can never edit another user's comment unless you're adding an unsigned signature template to an unsigned comment, or if you're moving the comment to a more appropriate place.
3. You can't tell other users that they cannot warn you, regardless of if it's "deserved" or not.
4. Unless a user is doing something on your talk page that is legitimately violating SmashWiki policy, your "warnings" are empty, and in the case they are, SmashWiki staff will be the ones to do something about it.
I'll also point out having "rules" for your talkpage is pointless, as a user will only face disciplinary action only if they violate SmashWiki policies, not when they break your "rules". Omega Tyrant 16:56, 25 July 2011 (EDT)
- Why should I get rid of my rules? They're good rules! You have to admit it, so you might as well admit it now! Do you tolerate any bad words on YOUR talkpage? Do you tolerate people saying you should be blocked infinitely? Well, what do you have to say about that? SmashPeter (talk) 07:38, 26 July 2011 (EDT)
- HOW COME YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT BAD WORDS ARE???!!! SmashPeter (talk) 07:42, 26 July 2011 (EDT)
- Didn't he clearly explain about the rules on your talk page? To summarise, "bad words" are allowed on the wiki. Your talk page is part of the wiki; ergo, "bad words" are allowed on your talk page. There however isn't anything wrong with simply discouraging it. Furthermore, anyone who feels like saying that he should be blocked indefinitely has the right to express that. It would be an extremely stupid and completely unjustified utterance, but not allowing that would be censorship. – SmiddleT 08:16, 26 July 2011 (EDT)
- Also, please respond to messages where they've originally been posted. – SmiddleT 08:17, 26 July 2011 (EDT)
- Basically what Smiddle said. Your talkpage is a part of the Wiki, and goes by the Wiki's posting rules, not your own. As such, users cannot face disciplinary action for breaking your "rules" if they didn't break the Wiki's posting rules, essentially making your own threats about it empty. You can have guidelines discouraging saying "bad words" or something if you wish to, but any sort of rules you try to impose on your talkpage will hold no water. And for the record, I don't give a shit if people swear anywhere on the Wiki, including my talkpage, and no user is going to say you should be permabanned, unless it's an admin giving you a legitimate warning for seriously fucking up.
Tyrant, you are aware that you said the S-word and the F-word there, and I'm very strict about the F-word on this talk page. SmashPeter (talk) 11:32, 26 July 2011 (EDT)
- Yes, and as said before, you cannot censor their use as SmashWiki does not forbid them. Omega Tyrant 11:33, 26 July 2011 (EDT)

- They can still be there, as long as it's understood that they're essentially pointless. By the way, SmashPeter, I think people are actually more likely to swear if you tell them not to. – SmiddleT 12:20, 26 July 2011 (EDT)
- They're not shit rules. They're just not backed up by policy. I could say "fuck" for instance and you couldn't do anything about it. If you censor it, you are essentially breaking policies by changing my talk page comment. But the rules aren't bad, there's just no chance of them getting backed up. ☆The Solar Dragon☆ 12:32, 26 July 2011 (EDT)
- Best you could do is start a discussion here about making your talk page rules the official rules of SmashWiki talk pages. That's the only way these rules are actually going to mean anything. ☆The Solar Dragon☆ 12:36, 26 July 2011 (EDT)
- They can still be there, as long as it's understood that they're essentially pointless. By the way, SmashPeter, I think people are actually more likely to swear if you tell them not to. – SmiddleT 12:20, 26 July 2011 (EDT)

- A warning for bad grammar? How stupid. Just play in your sandbox Peter and leave us alone. You give PAL a bad name. ;pBlindcolours Game Boy Camera 10:14, 14 August 2011 (EDT)
Your warning system
While ideal, it is flawed, and it introduces unnecessary bureaucracy. When it comes to vandalism and spam, a warning isn't needed, as users who commit such acts nearly invariably just ignore anything said to them, and won't prevent them from further vandalism/spam. For other offenses, users are nearly always warned for the first offense, and if they ignore that warning, another warning is just redundant. For those who commit second offenses, third offenses, etc., a warning is not needed as the user should already know what they're doing is wrong, as they been warned and blocked in the past for it. This was why you were blocked the second time without warning, as you were committing an offense you were already warned and blocked previously for. Omega Tyrant 13:37, 14 August 2011 (EDT)

SmashPeter really isn't editing his userpage that much. He only has made 14 userpage edits in the past 50 edits, which is certainly not enough to be told to cut down on them. So before telling users to stop making so many userpage edits, actually check how much they have made. And SmashPeter, remember to sign your comments. Continued refusal to sign will result in punishment. Also cut down on unnecessary question and exclamation marks for reasons we already told you. Omega Tyrant 09:39, 20 August 2011 (EDT)
I'll also say that "editing your mostly stupid warning system" was completely unnecessary. You can discuss with him why his idea is flawed, but just calling a section of his userpage "stupid" was uncalled for and not constructive in anyway. Omega Tyrant 09:41, 20 August 2011 (EDT)

Edits to policies
Do not edit policies without first discussing any changes. Grammar fixes are fine, but anything that might be considered a rule change is not allowed without discussion. Toomai Glittershine The Celeritous 10:34, 27 August 2011 (EDT)
Your goals
I noticed that you've put on your user page that you want to be an admin and bureaucrat here in the future. If you actually want to do so, here are a few tips:
- Currently you have as much user page edits and user talk page edits as you have mainspace edits (each). While that's probably better than some other users around here, it's not exactly perfectly healthy.
- Based on your user page, I can conclude you basically want to change our rules to be more like MarioWiki's. This is a mistake. We have developed our own ruleset and wikiculture, and to have a chance at adminship you have to understand the rules as they are. I'm not saying that you can't suggest rule changes without adminship, but with the kinds of rule changes I see on your user page, I don't think you'll be getting a lot of support.
- Your record on MarioWiki is not very good. While users' history on other wikis is usually irrelevant for aiming to become an admin here, having earned an infinite block on one of our partner wikis is a pretty big black mark on your chances. Of course it's not impossible, but you're going to have to work a lot harder to earn it. Toomai Glittershine The Irrepressible 09:37, 29 August 2011 (EDT)
I'll also say, you have to start showing respect to other users, and getting along with them, as well as being more mature on talk pages, and being less ignorant and arrogant. That post on Toomai's talk page yesterday was the most disrespectful non-vandal/troll post I seen, perfectly showing the negative qualities I mentioned here, and really damaging my view of you. If you can't fix these, you have absolutely no chance of this community supporting you for adminship, and I'll strongly oppose any future requests by you. Omega Tyrant 09:43, 29 August 2011 (EDT)

- Actually, BC, that is not necessarily true. ƋoӄԏoяΠɛəи99 {ROLLBACKER} 22:33, 31 August 2011 (EDT)
As I see it, there's no real need for a sockpuppet policy. This Wiki doesn't have a sockpuppet problem, and all sockpuppet cases are to be judged by a case by case basis. As pointed out, not all sockpuppets are immediately harmful (see SLZ and Smoreking), and as such, there shouldn't be punishment for merely using a sockpuppet. That said, if someone breaks policy with a sockpuppet, they'll still face punishment, regardless of if there's a sockpuppet policy or not. Omega Tyrant 15:51, 1 September 2011 (EDT)
