Just like the last iteration in January, the tournament gather almost all of Japan's best players, as 68 of the 84 japanese players in the Lumirank 2024.1 top 150 were present (notably missing was Yaura, who is on a hiatus). Both Maister and MkLeo also came to the tournament, being the 2 main invaders.
The only two notable upsets over top players before top 256 were Bayonetta main and #223 Imokenpi beating 3-2 #34 Yamanaction and Pichu main and #215 Kizuha beating 3-2 #42 Lax (both being Upset factor 5). Both finished at 193rd, with Yamanaction losing 0-3 to #95 NaNo (UF 2) (tied with EVO Japan 2020 as his worst result) and Lax losing 1-3 to Wolf main and #170 Shori (UF 4) (his second worst result).
