Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield! (ソード・シールド発売! ポケモントーナメント), known as Pokémon Sword & Shield Launch! in PAL regions, was an Event Tourney based around the Pokémon series. It ran from 6 a.m. on November 15, 2019 to 6 a.m. on November 18, 2019 (UTC), coinciding with the release of the newest entry in the series at the time of the Tourney, Pokémon Sword and Shield. During the event, only characters and stages from the Pokémon series could be used. Additionally, only Pokémon spirits were awarded as prizes.

- To celebrate the launch of Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield, this time-limited tourney will focus on fighters and stages from the Pokémon series!
- The further you advance, the better the spirit you'll win![1]
