Totodile (ワニノコ, Waninoko in Japanese language versions) is a fictional creature in the Pokémon media franchise.
Creature description
Totodile is a small bipedal blue crocodile. As stated in the Pokédex, in spite of the small size of its body, its well-developed jaws are very powerful and capable of crushing anything. It has a rough and tough nature too, and it won't hesitate to take a bite out of anything that moves, as is its natural habit. Turning your back on it is not recommended. Even its trainer needs to be careful because, while it may think it is just playfully nipping, its bite has enough power to cause serious injury. Because of this, Totodile is capable of learning many biting attacks in the RPG's, such as Bite, Crunch, and Ice Fang.
In the anime, unlike alligators, it has a tendency to dance cheerfully, and it can shoot water out of its mouth. It evolves into Croconaw, then into Feraligatr.
In Super Smash Bros. Melee
Totodile has made only one minor appearance as a trophy. It is the only of the Johto/Gold & Silver starters that does not feature as a Pokéball.
As a trophy
Totodile features as a collectible trophy, unlocked as one of the 100+ trophies that can be collected randomly during normal play, such as in the Trophy Lottery and throughout the various Single-player Regular Matches. It reads as follows:
- Totodile
- Little but feisty is the best description for these Water-type Pokémon. The first thing they do when they see something move is latch onto it with their powerful jaws. Totodile was one of the three Pokémon that Professor Elm offered to trainers in Pokémon Gold, Silver, and Crystal. They evolve into Croconaw.
