Heaven's Door (ヘブンズドア, Heaven's Door) is Kazuya's down special move.

Overview[edit]

Kazuya does a short hopping uppercut. If he successfully grabs the opponent, he will fly in his Devil Kazuya form and crash down to the ground, dealing large damage. Kazuya can aim the direction he flies in when crashing down, but if the opponent's damage is low they can try to influence it as well, much like Flying Slam. Just like Flying Slam, Kazuya will be KO'd first if used as a sacrificial KO and opponents will have an opportunity to recover. It has 10% damage-based armor from frames 5-14, making it useful as a defensive option. If used in the air, it gives a small amount of horizontal drift, technically giving it very niche use as a recovery tool.

Should the grab miss, the uppercut will deal an upwards launching hit at the apex of Kazuya's hop. The lack of combo potential, low KO power (not killing until around 200%) and difficulty in actually landing the hit makes it more of a novelty. This hitbox is not present when performing a Rage Drive.

If Kazuya's Rage mechanic is active while performing the move on the ground, it turns into a Rage Drive, dealing more damage with a Special Zoom effect. Using Heaven's Door in the air however won't turn it into a Rage Drive. The Rage Drive can also be activated with a command input (→ ↓ ↘ + held attack/special) or a simple grab. The command input deals even more damage and knockback, KOing at very early percentages.

When using the move, Kazuya will say 消えろ ("Be gone.")

Heaven's Door is a move introduced to Devil Kazuya in Tekken Tag Tournament. It is essentially a follow up to Dragon Uppercut, done by holding ↗ after the move, dealing extra 15 damage to the opponent. Due to his absence in Tekken 5, Devil Jin gains access to this move, and has kept it since. From Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection onwards, it can grab against aerial opponents as well.
