The tournament featured singles, doubles, a low tier bracket, draft crews, and a "YOLO" bracket. It was the first major tournament to utilize a waterfall bracket structure in singles, which has since become standard for major Smash 64 tournaments.   • The first social night of the tournament was sponsored by Heavy Seas Brewery, a local brewery in the Baltimore Area. Entrants were allowed to spend $10 to sample beers and obtain a souvenir pint glass.
  • The venue fee also covered hotel expenses as well as food, allowing entrants to sign up for the tournament and to have housing and food for the tournament all in one step.
