The player can be seen in the lower-left region of the screen when Giant Kirby makes his cinematic Adventure Mode entrance. It is possible that Giant Kirby may be a reference to Giant Donkey Kong. In The Subspace Emissary, there is an evil Giant Diddy Kong, which may be the successor to them both, as well as a Giant Bowser and a Giant Charizard also existing. Giant Kirby's moveset is the same as Kirby's, but his recovery is better. He is also heavier, thus harder to KO, especially on Very Hard difficulty, where his Damage Ratio is 0.5.
*In Brawl, this may occur for Stage 5, with the player teaming up with King Dedede and Meta Knight. King Dedede and Meta Knight can also be a giant opponent in addition to Giant Kirby.
*In for3ds, the opponents are fully randomized, but it is possible to battle against a giant version of Kirby.
*In forwiiu, Giant Kirby may appear as an intruder.

This article is about the permanently large form of Kirby that appears as a boss. For information on growing giant in normal gameplay, see Super Mushroom.

Giant Kirby is a minor boss in Super Smash Bros. Melee's Adventure Mode, as well as Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Super Smash Bros. 4, and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate's respective Classic Modes.

Overview[edit]

In Melee[edit]

Giant Kirby is fought on Stage 5 of Adventure upon the Green Greens stage as an optional boss. If the player manages to defeat the team of Kirbys in 31 seconds or less, a cinematic will play where Giant Kirby drops onto the second floating platform and lands crouching before standing up and smiling.

Giant Kirby is slightly larger than a regular Kirby with a Super Mushroom and is heavier and stronger than Kirby. If the player defeats Giant Kirby, they will receive the bonus "Giant Kirby KO", which awards 10,000 extra points.

In Brawl and Smash 4[edit]

Kirby is one of the characters who may be encountered in a Giant Battle in Classic Mode:

In Ultimate[edit]

Giant Kirby as Joker's Round 2 opponent in Classic Mode.

Giant Kirby (in an alternate costume resembling an unmasked Meta Knight) is fought on Kalos Pokémon League in Round 2 of Joker's Classic Mode route with Mr. Game & Watch serving as the latter's ally against the former. Giant Kirby is also the only opponent in Joker's route to be fought on a stage other than the latter's home stage Mementos.
