'''Gooey''' is [[Kirby]]'s best friend, and described as a friendly blob of Dark Matter. He first appeared in ''Kirby's Dream Land 2'', and could be found in the various bags in the game under certain conditions. In that game, his only function was to restore Kirby's health, but in ''Kirby's Dream Land 3'' he was a playable character. He is essentially a small blue blob of goo with a silly expression on his face. Gooey has similar powers to Kirby (except that he licks up enemies), and a second player can take control of him while the first player controls Kirby. In a single player game, Gooey can be summoned as a computer-controlled ally and during the game's final battle in space, Gooey's flying form is similar to Dark Matter. There is also apparently a girl version of Gooey found in ''Kirby's Dream Land 2'' who has similar function as Gooey did in that game. She also gives a single game completion percentage point for the first encounter with her. The girl Gooey looks exactly like Gooey, except she's lighter and wears a bow.

Not to be confused with the Gooey Bomb.

Gooey is Kirby's best friend, and described as a friendly blob of Dark Matter. He first appeared in Kirby's Dream Land 2, and could be found in the various bags in the game under certain conditions. In that game, his only function was to restore Kirby's health, but in Kirby's Dream Land 3 he was a playable character. There is also apparently a girl version of Gooey found in Kirby's Dream Land 2 who has similar function as Gooey did in that game. She also gives a single game completion percentage point for the first encounter with her. The girl Gooey looks exactly like Gooey, except she's lighter and wears a bow.

In Super Smash Bros. Melee

Gooey appeared as a trophy in Super Smash Bros. Melee.

The description reads: While Kirby swallows enemies in order to copy their powers, Gooey wraps them up in his tongue to steal their abilities. In Kirby's Dream Land 2, he occasionally appeared inside of a bag, but by Kirby's Dream Land 3, he was a full-fledged partner. He could be controlled by setting him up as Player Two.
