The_Doug or Doug is an old school retired smasher originally from Britain (as well as the Netherlands for a period of 2 or so years) who currently resides in Idaho. He was at different points a top level player in both Great Britain and the Netherlands prior to and during the early MLG period of smash. He was formerly ranked 10th on the 2001-2003 RetroSSBMRank and 1st on the Idaho Power Rankings.

FC3

Prior to The_Doug moving to the United States, he participated at FC3. The_Doug was joking listed as a "European Traitor?" by Bach, being the sole European on the otherwise California and Washington dominated West Coast team. In terms of results, he took 2 stocks vs Jv3x3 in the Mid-West crew as a starter and 3 stocks vs. a combination of Husband and Chu Dat vs. the East Coast crew, playing 6th in this match. He is best known unfortunately by this crew battle from Chu Dat's novelty chain grabs (at the time) which were listed as a "highlight" of FC3. He also entered Melee at Pound 4.

Retirement and comeback

The_Doug retired in 2007 and moved to the United States but came back to tournaments in 2012. He attended some events from 2012 to 2014, teaming with Ether, a prominent Marth user from SoVa. These events were mostly hosted by VGBC.
