Otherwise you're making excessive edits to the same page that clogs the recent changes with unnecessary edits, when all your editing can be done in one edit. Do this especially when editing your userpage, as other users do not like seeing a bunch of userpage edits from the same user in recent changes, and it inflates your userspace edit count, which can end up negatively impacting you down the road.
