Notices
The Skill parameter has been removed from Smasher infoboxes, and in its place are the new "Best historical ranking" and "Best tournament result" parameters. SmashWiki needs help adding these new parameters to Smasher infoboxes, refer to the guidelines here for what should be included in these new parameters.
When adding results to Smasher pages, include each tournament's entrant number in addition to the player's placement, and use the {{Trn}} template with the matching game specified. Please also fix old results on Smasher pages that do not abide to this standard. Refer to our Smasher article guidelines to see how results tables should be formatted.

Article on Dragon Quest Wiki Mimic

A Mimic (ガスト, Mimic) is a reoccurring monster in the Dragon Quest series.

Origin

Mimics were first introduced in Dragon Quest III, and have appeared in every mainline game since then. Mimics are similar to monsters of the same name in other franchises, such as Dungeons and Dragons. These monsters, usually found within dungeons, take the form of a treasure chest and attack the player upon attempting to open it. Defeating the Mimic generally rewards the player with an item, which differs from game to game.

Mimics are essentially stronger versions of another monster called the Cannibox(which can be count as it'family/previous form), as Mimics possess better stats and the ability to instantly kill any character with spells like Whack and Thwack.

In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

Mimics have a chance of appearing on the stage Yggdrasil's Altar. Just like in their home series, Mimics take the form of a regular treasure chest, and when the player tries to open it, they'll attack. Defeating the Mimic results in a random item to be dropped.
