As I see it, the main argument for including "(disambiguation)" in title is that it somehow would make things more consistent, but I don't see how. It creates inconsistency since doesn't follow the standard that titles shouldn't be redundant. Why does the title have to indicate that it's a disambig, why is that preferrable? If you claim it's because "some contain it, therefore all should for consistency", I don't see how. In some cases, the format "X (disambiguation)" is needed to distinguish it from an actual article named "X"; this is the purpose for the parenthetical addendum in a title. If you go to a page in this category with "(disambiguation)" removed, it will just redirect to corresponding disambiguation in the very most cases. What's the point of that? Why not just make it standard not to have that tag in the title? - <font face="lucida handwriting, segoe script">Ceci n’est pas un Smiddle.</font> 11:05, 25 June 2013 (EDT)
And for some reason, on this page ther's no "remove where redundant" option, or similarly, to vote for. Since the vote has been going on for such a long time without that option, the results aren't really valid. - <font face="lucida handwriting, segoe script">Ceci n’est pas un Smiddle.</font> 11:14, 25 June 2013 (EDT)
I'll have to agree with Smiddle on this. The opposing argument is an argument of "consistency" that doesn't apply, and AirCon's argument already has a significant issue by assuming readers are morons (and even if someone can't recognise a disambig page without the title stating such, does it really affect them and prevent them from finding the information they're looking for?). <span style="font-family:Edwardian Script ITC; font-size:12pt"><span style="color:forestgreen">Omega</span> <span style="color:forestgreen">Tyrant</span></span> 11:18, 25 June 2013 (EDT)
I agree too, pages that are disambiguations does not need "x (disambiguation)" as its quite overall obvious that people can already tell if it is an disambiguation (in addition disambig templates can tell too). == Disambiguations for single subjects should be full pages. ==
You know what bothers me about the disambiguation pages here? A lot of them are about one character and they are just pointing to the lists of Trophies, Stickers, Spirits and Background Characters that have that character. Disambiguations are meant for words with multiple meanings. The Silver (disambiguation) page includes a link to Silver the Hedgehog which redirects to Silver the Hedgehog (disambiguation) which just links to the pages he's listed on. I don't really see any point in making a disambiguation page for one character making multiple cameos. I think those characters should have full articles. Following the discussion on Talk:Charmander, which is a Pokémon who has only made the appearances that would have made it a disambiguation, I think every character in this category deserves better than a disambiguation. They should be moved with the "(disambiguation)" tag removed, get a Character General Infobox, and have a section for each Smash game they cameoed in with their trophy/sticker/spirit information and a description of what they did on the stage. An origin section won't hurt either. And a gallery section for additional images can be good. And the trivia section can follow the rules. Considering how our notability policy only talks about Smasher players and no written rule have stated a trophy can't get a page, I think these guys should get their pages. After all, we cover the Super Smash Bros. series and the characters who have disambiguations have at least shown up in the Smash games. We have categories for :Category:Trophies (SSBM), :Category:Trophies (SSBB), :Category:Trophies (SSB4-Wii U), :Category:Trophies (SSB4-3DS), :Category:Stickers, :Category:Background characters, and :Category:Spirits. Characters who are Smash Tour items get full pages despite Smash Tour items not giving much information other than their effects, making pages like Tetra and Daisy's page before her Ultimate reveal good examples of what Trophy-only character pages could possibly look like. The Midgar stage hazards Bahamut ZERO, Ifrit, Leviathan, Odin and Ramuh have pages despite being nothing but Background characters. They didn't even get their own Trophies! But while characters who only got one trophy should redirect to their list of trophies unless someone could make a decent article of them, disambiguation pages like Amy Rose (disambiguation) should be turned into actual articles, because what could "Amy Rose" refer to other than that pink hedgehog who loves Sonic? And other disambiguations that refer to single objects that links to lists they are in, full articles too, similar to the characters. Forms and variations of a specific fighter who appeared as a trophy or sticker should redirect to the fighter's main page. For example, Beam Kirby could redirect to Kirby and have the trophies listed on Kirby's page. The Trophies are listed there anyways. And as for the music tracks, I would like them to get pages so that we don't have that awkward double parenthesis in Airship Theme (Super Mario Bros. 3) (disambiguation). I think someone should reformat the music listings for each series so that they look more like a table instead of a bunch of stubs stacked on top of each other. And those stubs should be split into their own pages merged with the sections from games that track returned in. So yeah, disambiguations about one thing with multiple Smash appearances should be pages and not disambiguations. Disambiguations of terms that could mean multiple things in Smash like Duck Hunt (disambiguation) (which can either be the character, universe or stage can stay. Anyone agree with me? SeanWheeler (talk) 21:47, 20 November 2018 (EST)
:My current understanding is that if the character has a function that effects game play in at least one installment, then they get a page. Like Tetra. In Smash for Wii U, she is one of the Tour Items that is used in Smash Tour, so she got got a page despite technically only appearing as a trophy. Pauline doesn't have a page, most likely that despite appearing in the background in the New Donk City stage and being "intractable", she does not have an impact on the game play, only the music. Unfortunately, Silver also falls under this, as his background cameo does not impact game play. The basis of Mii Fighter costumes also a page for being notable enough. It would be cool to see characters like Amy Rose or Pauline with pages of their own, but they unfortunately, at to current my current understanding, do not have anything "notable" enough to become their own page. Something I'd like to see, is instead of redirecting the pages to a list of Trophies, Stickers, Spirits, Background Characters, or Disambiguation Pages that it's in, the link takes them to the Wiki of their respective franchise (Like this Wiki seems to do with the Fire Emblem series regarding Spirits) and not a regular Wikipedia page of it (unless the franchise doesn't have a dedicate wiki). I've seen that happening with the Castlevania series despite having a Wiki. Wolff (talk) 18:15, 23 November 2018 (EST)
::I don't really think the Smash Tour items are notable enough. The Smash Tour page list all of its items, and they don't even appear in battle like Assist Trophies or even the background characters. In each of the pages for the Smash Tour items, their roles as Trophies are more in-depth than their effects in Smash Tour. Boo's page doesn't have a section on "Smash Tour." It just has half of the Smash 4 paragraph stating his effect of turning players invisible while the other half of the paragraph just says he returns as a Trophy and appears in the Luigi's Mansion stage. And most players don't like Smash Tour anyway so why should that take priority? SeanWheeler (talk) 20:58, 23 November 2018 (EST)
:::Admin Aidanzapunk was the one who gave the reason why Tetra has a page on the Charmander talk page. ::::Honestly, I think characters with enough cameo appearances should get them pages. In fact, maybe even having one trophy may be enough? Though I guess maybe if we open the flood gates to all trophies we'd be looking more like a generic Nintendo wiki. But minor characters getting articles would better than minor characters getting disambiguation pages. ::::::Yeah, I think those character disambiguations should be deleted and the broken redirects that result from the deletion should either redirect to the appropriate NIWA wiki page, the universe page, or be converted into full-fledged articles. Get rid of the (disambiguation)s[edit]
Disambiguations for single subjects should be full pages.[edit]

- I don't really think the Smash Tour items are notable enough.
- Admin Aidanzapunk was the one who gave the reason why Tetra has a page on the Charmander talk page. If you disagree, you can always try asking him directly on his talk page regarding if Smash Tour Items like Tetra should have a page or not. Wolff (talk) 21:33, 23 November 2018 (EST)
- Honestly, I think characters with enough cameo appearances should get them pages. In fact, maybe even having one trophy may be enough? Though I guess maybe if we open the flood gates to all trophies we'd be looking more like a generic Nintendo wiki. But minor characters getting articles would better than minor characters getting disambiguation pages. SeanWheeler (talk) 22:04, 23 November 2018 (EST)

- Yeah, I think those character disambiguations should be deleted and the broken redirects that result from the deletion should either redirect to the appropriate NIWA wiki page, the universe page, or be converted into full-fledged articles. I think disambiguations are useless for minor characters who don't have their own pages. SeanWheeler (talk) 23:58, 26 November 2018 (EST)
