Hello, Toomai. Recently I've been having a lot of anxiety regarding | Hello, Toomai. Recently I've been having a lot of anxiety regarding SpiritBattleRow. A part of me feels like it is a lot of effort for only a few benefits; those being a fixed-size inspiration section and easier DLC handling. Specifying a min-width for the inspiration column minimizes the tall rows on small screens, which makes the fixed-size cells in the template less necessary. That leaves the DLC parts the only main benefit. As someone who has made templates for site-wide usage and has a lot of experience I wanted know if you had any thoughts or advice on the matter. I'm willing to change everything back to a standard wikitable if you think that would be best. --CanvasK (talk) 04:01, March 22, 2021 (EDT) | ||
:I've decided I'm going to change things back to a wikitable for now; this isn't something I should be panicking about and losing sleep over. If you think the template is a worthy idea then I'll revisit it at another time. --CanvasK (talk) 04:49, March 22, 2021 (EDT) | :I've decided I'm going to change things back to a wikitable for now; this isn't something I should be panicking about and losing sleep over. ::There are two main benefits of a template for this sort of thing: enforced consistency (preventing one page from being different than any of the others unless it just isn't written to use the template yet), and ease of change (one can edit the single template instead of every single row). For a use case like this, the only problem I can see is the risk of future changes requiring extra effort to fix (such as the introduction of battles with DLC-caused changes), since they can't be "freeform" and must be put into the template proper until they can be displayed at all. | ::There are two main benefits of a template for this sort of thing: enforced consistency (preventing one page from being different than any of the others unless it just isn't written to use the template yet), and ease of change (one can edit the single template instead of every single row).
