While I have considered alternate versions of certain characters, I decided to exclude them to make things a lot simpler. "Subspecies" of fictional species are allowed, though, as "species" aren't necessarily characters per se. New Met = Numetall?

Borderline whether they would warrant your mention, but a few of the News blurbs for various Mii costumes mention characters/groups:

• X and Zero: mention the Maverick Hunters generally
• Protagonist (Persona 4): mentions the Investigation Team generally
• Teddie: mentions Yosuke
• Altair: mentions the Assassin Brotherhood generally
