Notable players[edit]
Try to limit the notable players section to high-ranking placements, probably around Top 25. Also, don't just list every player that have placed well at a tournament with that character, that may have been the only time they ever placed that high, and as such isn't that notable. Finally, "Has a strong ____ secondary" isn't a good enough description - provide high-placing results where they used that character a lot, and if they only used that character once, it's not notable. Please keep those in mind when making future edits. Thanks! SugarCookie 420 07:38, 13 February 2019 (EST)
- Also, in the light of talks with others, you should probably stop adding to the notable players section, as they may be removed in the coming weeks. SugarCookie 420 12:09, 17 February 2019 (EST)
Response[edit]
Okay. So you are removing players that have accomplished something slightly smaller than the best of the best have? I'm not a fan of this. I can understand not adding players who don't main the character to the list despite them being added regardless in the Smash 4 pages, but why would I not include top 65 placements from tournaments that have thousands of entrees? That's just stupid. You are taking away someone's accomplishment off of the page for no good reason, just pettyness. If this game has been out for a long time, then sure it makes sense to do that. But this is a new game. People getting good early results have clearly proven their merit. —Preceding unsigned comment added by MotherEB (talk • contribs) 12:24, February 17, 2019
- Honestly I made something of a similar argument on Talk:Wolf (SSBU), yet I got shut down. The main reason is that the notable players section is for people with a history of the character. The game just came out 2 months ago, so there's not a lot of "legacy" for anyone here. As a matter of fact, if you read the whole talk section, none of the notable players section should stay right now, although me and the admin haven't came to a solution yet. I'm just removing them because the sections are way to overcrowded for a game that came out 2 months ago, and most of these tournament results are recorded on the respected tournament pages, so their accomplishments are recorded there anyways. Okay well I can't agree with that one. All I can say is I guess you won't see anything from me anymore. Spent most of 2 days researching results on most of the pages I tried to fix up. Now it's just a waste of time. I go to notable player pages for the reason I gave above, to see anybody who has achieved literally any good result or win. So I hope whoever takes over now will do a good job. Also Idk how to do this wiki message stuff so I can't sign. A simple DM system would have been nice.MotherEB (talk) 12:46, 17 February 2019 (EST)
