So this edit[edit]
Hi, we appreciate the effort, and I'm sure it took you a lot of time, but there are serious problems with this edit and trying to sort the wheat from the chaff you added will be too much work for the rest of us, so your edit was reverted entirely. In particular:
- You must familiarize yourself with our Manual of Style before editing farther.
- Your edits need to be concise; readers don't want to read huge walls of text that drone on and on, while huge pages additionally are a drain for people to load, especially those on weak internet connections and/or on weak devices. Fit in all the necessary detail, but avoid any unneeded fluff, avoid redundancy, avoid adding content that better belongs on other pages, use efficient coding, and do anything else to keep your edits lean.
- Don't add bad trivia! The wiki has had a problem for a long time now that we're in the process of addressing, where many trivia sections, especially on character articles, are terribly bloated with all sorts of bad trivia (as noted on our projects page). Quite frankly, the trivia you added only contributed to this problem, being in clear violation of our trivia guidelines. Do not add any more trivia to any articles without reading those guidelines first.
Now we are open to you revising the information you added in this edit and then it being added back, as there are certainly good bits in there. I would strongly recommend doing so one section at a time, so that it's more digestible for other editors to review. Competitive play edits[edit]
Hi, I've noticed that in some of your recent edits to the Brawl competitive play sections, you claimed that some characters, specifically Ness and Mr. Game & Watch, were underrated. More specifically, you first cited Enigma as a source as to how players considered Ness as a high tier, however upon looking at the YouTube channel, not only do they have little subscribers and views on each video, but they don't seem to be rather active both online and in actual competitive play. Afterwards, you also wrote how "most of the community argues that Ness is underrated and should be ranked higher", and you did something similar to Mr. Game & Watch as well. This is a really weird statement to make since the Post-Brawl community tier list has both Ness as a high-low tier and Mr. Game & Watch as a solid mid-tier, far from being "high tier" or "high or top-tier", respectively, and that tier list represents the overall Brawl community's opinions.
This isn't the only case from what I can tell. You also recently added how Ultimate Lucas had "a few [players] even considering him as a lower high-tier". First, that heavily contradicts Lucas's current placement as a low-mid tier, and with Lucas's results being rather stagnant in 2023 (for example, no Lucas players in the top 150), I don't see how that has changed. In addition, I searched through several recent tier lists, including MuteAce, Hurt, Dabuz, and Glutonny, and none of them have placed Lucas anywhere close to high-tier. Granted, player tier lists are also filled with their own biases and experience, but even Glutonny, who lives in the same region as the best Lucas player, considers Lucas to be mid-tier at best. Admittedly, I am a bit picky on your wording in this case, but putting how a few players consider Lucas as a low-high tier character is also very misleading if the general consensus thinks otherwise.
You've made a lot of edits to the wiki in the last few months, and I trust you are working on it in good faith. However, it really seems like you are sugarcoating the viability of some characters, especially ones that you seem like are underrated. I strongly suggest trying to avoid using the term "underrated" unless you have good evidence to back it up and checking whether the information you use actually aligns with what the community thinks; a few sources for the latter include tier lists and OrionRank/LumiRank's character data for Ultimate, which I have compiled into a userpage. I am reminding you to read the prior posts on your talk page, I have gotten several complaints about your edits in our Discord server for your massive edits that skirt the lines of our standards and sometimes present questionable, if not outright false information. Your block[edit]
Since you made another gigantic edit that ignored everything you were told before on your talk page and are still outright removing valid content like the gallery, you have been blocked. The frequency as which you pump out these massive edits with questionable information and that keeps violating our content standards has also led to suspicion that you may be using AI to generate your edits. Continuing to ignore your talk page will result in farther, more severe blocks. Omega Tyrant 13:20, March 8, 2024 (EST)
