Tournament pages[edit]

Hey, would like to say thank you so much for getting to some of the tournament pages. I really appreciate all the help!

Just a quick thing, in regards to characters, we only include characters that were used to win a game, and the player ultimately winning that set. For example, if I used Ness to win a game but ultimately lost the set, Ness would not be counted. As such, I would usually try avoid using Reddit threads or graphics when adding characters, aside from using them as references. This is because both of these tend to add whatever characters are used in an event and aren't always necessarily going to follow our guidelines.

Keep up the good work! CookiesCnC Signature.pngCreme 22:31, October 10, 2024 (EDT)

Also another quick thing, we have an icon to represent both Pyra and Mythra: PyraMythra (SSBU). You should use that icon unless a player solely used one of the characters. CookiesCnC Signature.pngCreme 22:32, October 10, 2024 (EDT)
Not a requirement by any means, just a suggestion. Character data can be hard to pull when VODs are limited, but sometimes the smasher app can be a useful tool to figure out what character the player was likely to have gone. If you click on the player page you can go to their event page and see what characters they have been going at recent events. If they have been going the same character at the big events, in that timeframe it's reasonable to guess they also went that character at this event. You can also check Twitter pages, but a lot of players don't tweet about their runs so that is hit or miss. Regardless, I can't tell you how much I appreciate all the work you have done in creating tournament pages. Wiifitkid (talk) 13:47, December 13, 2024 (EST)

Attendance[edit]

Just a quick heads up, even for events that are strictly Smash-only, do not follow the attendance count that Start.gg lists on the sidebar. Many times, there are attendees who register for the tournament but do not sign up for an event, or they are placed on a waitlist and don't make it in. As such, those are not counted in the final attendance count, and you'll have to manually go to the attendance section and check the boxes for each Smash event for the most accurate entrants count. I normally go to the Attendance tab wether there's more events than the Singles and Doubles or even more games outside of Smash... But there were exceptions where I forgot to do that and accidentally put the total attendance even though I should have done that in the first place, and I apologize for not doing that. I will take this into account much more when creating tournament pages, thanks for mentioning it and, once again, I apologize. - APEBE 14:46, March 10th, 2025 (CDMX)
