VCA 2021[edit]
Hey, just a few quick things on your edit summary on the Sonic page that I didn't detail in my own edit summary. The wiki went through a retiering process recently with the help of Stuart, the guy behind the LumiRank algorithm. This was mainly because the PGRU and OrionRank, while the "standard", had some severe flaws that led to some tournaments being undervalued or overvalued. For PGRU, some tournaments that should be majors by talent alone are not listed as such due to PGR's weird point system; this includes Sumabato SP 6, which had 1 top 5 player, 2 top 10 players, 1 top 25 player, and 6 top 50 players, which was certainly stacked enough to be a major. On the other hand, when OrionRank became the standard, many users on SmashWiki noticed how there were several tournaments deemed as "majors" that shouldn't be so due to OrionRank's point overinflation issue, one of them being VCA 2021, which only featured 2 players ranked in the top 50. As such, the wiki adopted a 3,000 point threshold for OrionRank events instead of the ranking's 2,400 threshold, which it had at the time. Liquipedia also adopted it, however they don't tend to retier tournaments, which is why on their site VCA 2021 is still listed as a major while Sumabato SP 6 isn't.
