Online desynchronization Wait those were corrections? Looked more like you just changed the choice of words. Yo'ster (talk) 13:38, August 19, 2024 (EDT)

oh IP talk pages are a thing

well,

  • specifying the artificial delay generally included in delay-based netcode
  • mentioning the speed of light as a hard limit (since it takes light a frame to travel from NY to LA, and that's just one-way distance with no processing), rather than just being limited by technology "feasible in the current day"
  • saying how rollback actually works (resetting+ff'ing the gamestate), moving the incorrect Slippi method (skipping the animation) to its own section
  • spelling out the good points of rollback (the old text didn't actually mention any upsides)
  • specifying the more problematic results of bad rollback than just teleporting around

I guess that makes sense, but do you really need to specify so much? I just find the previous version to flow better. Yo'ster (talk) 10:30, August 20, 2024 (EDT)
I am guessing you did not mean to say "the page was better when it had less useful information" but that's what you wrote 184.145.93.15 08:41, August 23, 2024 (EDT)
Umm... right. What I mean is that it's kind of hard to read now. Like instead of just taking in the words without thinking too much, my brain gets stuck on every couple sentences because a lot of extra info sort of starts tangents that don't actually go anywhere but distract from the subject of the previous words. Does that make sense? It's kind of hard to explain. Yo'ster (talk) 09:50, August 24, 2024 (EDT)
An icon used in notice templates. This is an IP's talk page. While it's not a requirement to have a username, those that do not can only be recognized by their IP address, which can change over time and/or be assigned to an unrelated user; they can even be shared by multiple users. If this talk page belongs to your IP but its comments are intended for someone else, you may want to login or create an account to eliminate future confusion.
