The Yoshi Mob is a group of 10,000 Yoshis. They roam the land in search of people that need helping, or in search of battles that need to be fought, or whatever they feel like doing. While it's comprised of 10,000 members (plus Yoshi himself), there is often only somewhere between 1,000 and 2,000 in the group at a time (which itself often splits into sub-groups for tasks), with the rest "off-duty" until needed. The Mob is most well-known for an earlier incarnation, where they simply stampeded everywhere and left innumerable footprints behind.

Commanders[edit]

While the Mob as a whole is a loose entity that operates on groupthink more than anything, it does posses what can be called a command structure. The twelve Commanders are always "on-duty" and work together to keep the Mob intact and functioning properly. Each Commander informally oversees every Yoshi of the same colour.

Meridor Flexfoot Cyan F 843 Meridor is pointedly not the "leader" of the Mob - that distinction goes to Yoshi when he's around, and no one in particular otherwise. That said, she's always the first to speak for the Commanders as a whole, and acts as the disagreement-resolver should the others...disagree. Meridor wields the Chronological Blade, a sword said to slice foes with time itself.
Phosho Burstheel Yellow F 847 By far the oldest of the Commanders, but in no way weak - only her accuracy seems to have dipped with age, while her health, dexterity, and intelligence remain unmatched. Phosho is well-known by the Mob as being the brains of the operation, with very few decisions passing without her approval. Her weapon is the Lightning Rod, a staff capable of firing electric discharges several kilometers.
Xarke Turnwing Purple M 829 "Xarke's a pretty cool guy" is the general sentiment amongst everyone who knows him. He doesn't quite reach funky levels, but he's laid-back, never panics, and seems to be immune to being in a rush. He wields Toxin Bombs, which release clouds of poison across their blast radius.
Gliz Liftlip Grey F 803 A jack-of-all-trades in several ways. Gliz learns exceedingly quickly and can become competent at a skill with only half an hour of dedicated practice. Her work ethic is second to none and matched by an uncanny ability to recognize and exploit an enemy's weaknesses. And when that don't work, she will lay down the Grindhammer to paste foes into the ground.
Beffens Skippy Orange M 870 While by no means a dummy, Beffens is still the least smartest of the Commanders. As expected, he makes up for it in brute strength, and is capable of punching holes in anything softer than topaz should he have sufficient adrenaline flowing. Beffens wields the Loose Cannon, a fearsome weapon with unpredictable results.
Colsten Stiffarm Red M 806 Colsten is fully aware of the stereotype of the red guy on the team being the hot-headed leader, and tries his best to defy it. He's the niceset of the Commanders and prefers to take a back seat whenever possible. That said, he still employs the Flaming Fist, a gauntlet that ignites the air it swings through.
Druri Triptoe Brown M 841 The slowest and shortest of the Commanders, Druri is brash and boasting, always bragging about his past successes but never content with them. Unlike many such people, he has the skill to back up his claims, and no one questions his ability to lead the Mob into fights. Druri wields the Devastating Club, a weapon composed of unnaturally dense material.
Quert Wholeuf White F 822 Quert prefers to hang in the background, following along with whatever the other Commanders decide. That's not to say she's useless - she has a network of spies and other shady characters stationed pretty much everywhere, and so has access to pretty much anything that is knowable. While she avoids combat, she does have an unlimited amount of Snowflake Shurikens, which can either freeze targets solid or evaporate on contact with no trace.
Wyvjer Fullheart Pink F 817 Wyvjer is a bit of a klutz compared to the other Commanders, but makes up for a lack of dexterity with blazing speed - the "Hot Pink Hot Rod" often ends up leading the Mob simply because she moves the fastest. Her clumsiness results in being a bit shy and reclused when there's no action to take part in. Wyvjer uses the Favoured Bow, a rose-coloured weapon that aims its projectiles for her.
Sigo Tosswrist Blue F 797 Shaped like a basketball player, Sigo is physically the weakest Commander but also the tallest and skinniest. She thinks out of the box more than in it, coming up with about an equal amount of silly and brilliant ideas. She wields the Weather Whiplash, which can slap water out of the air and clouds out of the sky.
Omasuru Shellkeep Black M 880 Master tracker, Omasuru has keen eyesight, incredible smellpathing, and impeccable accuracy, capable of locating a lost pet a day's walk away within a few meters. He's a sensitive guy and can't take as many hits as the other Commanders, but being wrong is not something he does. His weapon is the Diamond Drill, capable of digging through almost any substance.
Leeph Irontail Green M 833 He's tall, he's fat, he can't aim worth a poop, and he's the youngest of all the Commanders. Leeph has near-pathologial amounts of tenacity, making it almost impossible to stop him doing something he's set out to do, and he can't turn down a good laugh. His weapon is the Twister Boomerang, which flies wherever the thrower wishes.
