Palutena's Guidance[edit]
Palutena's Guidances for the Ultimate DLC fighters and other character ideas.
Banjo & Kazooie[edit]
- Pit: Wow! It's Banjo! And Kazooie!
- Viridi: Never thought I'd see them around here again. I bet they're happy to be back.
- Palutena: Banjo and Kazooie have been a team for years. Banjo's the brawn, while Kazooie's the brains... or at least the mouth.
- Pit: Hey, kind of like Viridi.
- Viridi: What's that supposed to mean?!
- Palutena: Kazooie isn't completely helpless, though; she can launch eggs from her mouth or her... er, rear. Banjo can also use her as a weapon.
- Pit: Is that really a good way to treat your best friend?
- Palutena: If it bothered her, I'm sure she would have said so by now.
Byleth[edit]
- Pit: Whoa! That's a lot of weapons.
- Palutena: That's Byleth, a professor at the Officers' Academy. By training his/her students, he/she has become a master of the sword, lance, axe, and bow.
- Pit: What's a teacher doing out on the battlefield?
- Palutena: Byleth is more than a teacher. He/She is also the child of the famous mercenary Jeralt and an expert mercenary in his/her own right.
- Pit: I see... There sure are a lot of mercenaries and bounty hunters around here, aren't there?
- Palutena: Hm. I'd never thought about it before, but I guess you're right. I wonder if they're all here on a job.
- Pit: Um... Lady Palutena... you don't think they're after ME, do you?
- Palutena: Oh, Pit, I'm sure you have nothing to worry about. If anything, they'd be after someone important, like me.
- Pit: Oh, that's a relief-- hey, wait a second!
Cucco[edit]
- Pit: Huh? Where's my opponent?
- Viridi: Oh, you poor thing.
- Palutena: Careful, Pit. It looks like you'll be going up against Cucco this time.
- Pit: Cucco? You mean this chicken? You're kidding, right?
- Viridi: Hey, why don't you poke it with your bow?
- Palutena: Quiet, Viridi.
- Palutena: Don't underestimate Cucco because of its size, Pit. Cuccos are famous across Hyrule for their violent fits of rage. If you strike one, it may call for back-up to help get its revenge.
- Pit: So more chickens? That doesn't sound so bad...
- Viridi: Oh, this is going to be SO much fun to watch.
Edelgard[edit]
- Pit: Hey, this girl looks like she's friends with Marth, but she's not wielding a sword!
- Palutena: That's Edelgard, future[1] empress of Adrestia. She's a noble leader and a master of the axe.
- Viridi: "Noble" leader? Please! Edelgard is a ruthless warlord. Do you know how much wildlife she killed in her little holy war?
- Palutena: While her actions can certainly be extreme, her motives are pure. All she needs is a guiding hand to rein her in.
- Pit: It doesn't look like she has anyone holding her back this time. Should I be scared?
- Palutena: I'm sure you'll be fine, Pit.
- ^ "Future" is omitted when Edelgard is using her empress costumes.
Geno[edit]
- Viridi: Is that guy made of wood?
- Palutena: That's Geno, a warrior from Star Road. Although, Geno's not actually his real name. His real name is incomprehensible star language, so he uses the name of the doll he inhabits.
- Pit: He's just a doll? Then how powerful could he be?
- Palutena: Well, the doll on its own was enough to knock out Mario. With the power of the stars behind him, Geno is not one to be underestimated.
- Pit: Of course not.
- Viridi: If he's friends with Mario, why's he taken so long to show up?
- Palutena: I'm sure he has a lot of duties to attend to on Star Road, among... other things.
Hero[edit]
- Pit: Now that looks like the armor of a legendary hero.
- Palutena: That's [canon name of Hero]. There are many heroes like him spoken about in legends. All of them are strong, noble warriors, and most of them wield a sword.
- Pit: Right. Heroes wield swords. Makes sense.
- Palutena: If he gets a Smash Ball, he can summon even more heroes to help him strike with his most powerful move, Gigaslash.
- Pit: Hey, speaking of getting help from the Smash Ball, why don't you come to help me when I break open the Smash Ball anymore?
- Palutena: What if we were to go up against each other? Wouldn't it be strange for me to help you defeat me?
- Pit: I guess that's fair.

Tattle Log[edit]
Performed on Paper Mario, activating this Smash Taunt has Goombella appear to share information on one of the opponents.
Banjo & Kazooie[edit]
- "That's Banjo & Kazooie. Wow, I can't believe they made it! It's good to see them back. Weight is heavy, speed is slow, and jump height is low. Although Banjo isn't very fast, he can switch places with Kazooie for her Talon Trot, which is significantly faster. Makes you wonder why she isn't the one running around all the time, huh? She can also use her wings to grant Banjo invincibility for their side special, Wonderwing, but they can only use it a certain number of times, so see if you can trick them into wasting it. Y'know, if you ask me, Kazooie is the REAL powerhouse here."
Bayonetta[edit]
- "That's Bayonetta. Eek, she kind of freaks me out... Oh, gosh, I hope she can't hear me. Weight is light, speed is slow, and jump height is high. She has a lot of moves that allow her to land several hits in a row to rack up damage, including those guns she wields and the ones attached to her feet. Once she's got you where she wants you, she can summon the demon Madama Butterfly's massive fist to punch you off the stage! Try to take her down as quickly as possible before she can get you trapped in a combo. So... just how exactly does she fire guns with her feet? Asking for a friend."
Bowser[edit]
- "That's Bowser, although he's looking a little... thicker than I'm used to. Weight is heavy, speed is slow, and jump height is average. Actually, while he's the slowest walker, he has a surprisingly fast run speed, so keep that in mind. He also has a special skill called "Tough Guy" that lets him resist flinching, so he can counterattack quicker if you get too close. Besides that, he fights the same way you would expect Bowser to fight. Too bad there aren't any bridges we can drop him off of, though..."
Bowser Jr.[edit]
- "That's Bowser Jr., Bowser's son. He's fighting inside his personal Junior Clown Car. Weight is heavy, speed is slow, and jump height is high. The Clown Car gives him a significant speed boost in midair. It also has higher defense than he does, so you should aim your attacks at that smug little face. He can also abandon the Clown Car as a bomb, while he rockets in midair with his own personal hammer. This leaves him pretty much helpless otherwise, though, so if he tries it, launch him before he can hit you!"
- "That's (Koopaling name), one of the Koopalings. He/She's fighting inside a standard-issue Koopa Clown Car. Weight is heavy, speed is slow, and jump height is high. The Clown Car gives him/her a significant speed boost in midair. It also has higher defense than he/she does, so you should aim your attacks at that smug little face. He/She can also abandon the Clown Car as a bomb, while he/she rockets in midair with his/her own personal magic wand. This leaves him/her pretty much helpless otherwise, though, so if he/she tries it, launch him/her before he/she can hit you!"
Byleth[edit]
- "That's Byleth. He/She's a professor at Garreg Mach Monastery and child of the famous mercenary, Jeralt the Blade-Breaker. Weight is average, speed is slow, and jump height is low. In addition to his/her signature Sword of the Creator, he/she wields the Heroes' Relics Aymr, Areadbhar, and Failnaught. Aymr has devasting power, Areadbhar has great range, and Failnaught fires off arrows, but they're all a bit slow to use, so try to predict when he/she is about to strike and adapt accordingly!"
Captain Falcon[edit]
- "That's Captain Falcon. Wow, he's been in Smash Bros. almost more than his own games. Weight is average, speed is fast, and jump height is high. I guess his expertise in F-Zero racing translates to foot-racing, too, because his mobility is insane. His signature attack is, of course, the Falcon Punch. If he can land it, it can be devastating, so when you hear him charging it up, you'd better run! He's also got a pretty impressive knee strike when he's in midair, so keep an eye out for that. I wonder when he'll return to the F-Zero circuit... Come on, Cap, we're all waiting!"
Chrom[edit]
- "That's Chrom. I guess he finally got his chance, huh? Weight is average, speed is fast, and jump height is low. Chrom wields a version of Falchion that isn't at its full power, but you still shouldn't underestimate it! Unlike Marth's Falchion, Chrom's is equally powerful throughout the blade, so spacing is less of a problem. He's also a bit more forceful in his swordplay than Marth or Lucina, so his attacks are actually more like Roy's. Unlike Roy, his recovery sends him plummeting back down after he uses it, so he has a much harder time getting back on the stage. Use that to your advantage!"
Cloud[edit]
- "Whoa! That's Cloud Strife! Who'da thought he'd be here?! Weight is high, speed is fast, and jump height is low. That big sword puts most of the guys here to shame. Its power is equivalent to his size, so try your best to keep away from it. You should also keep your eye on his Limit Break. Once he's ready, he'll let loose a massive blow! He'll ready it when giving or receiving hits, but he can also do it on his own. When it's time to end things, he may unleash a Finishing Touch on you, and you'll be soaring! I'm sweating just thinking about it."
Corrin[edit]
- "That's Corrin. He/She's a prince/ss of Nohr, but I guess he/she was actually born in Hoshido or... something like that. Weight is average, speed is slow, and jump height is also average. He/She was sheltered growing up, but his/her big brother Xander trained him/her in the way of the sword, so he/she's still a force to be reckoned with on the battlefield. He/She also possesses dragon blood, which uniquely manifests in the ability to transform his/her body parts into that of a dragon! Hm... I can't shake there's something fishy about this whole story, though."
Cucco[edit]
- "That's a Cucco. It's kind of cute, but I've heard it's not to be trifled with. Weight is light, speed is average, and jump height is also average. Cuccos are known for being fairly placid creatures right up until you mess with them. Seems like this one's already pretty ticked. Despite its size, it can do some serious damage, so don't underestimate it. If it grabs a Smash Ball, it'll summon a whole flock of Cuccos to brutalize you. I'm sure it can't be... Oh, gosh, there are pictures in here! This is awful! I'm going to have nightmares for weeks!"
Daisy[edit]
- "That's Daisy. She's the princess of Sarasaland and one of Princess Peach's dear friends. Weight is light, speed is slow, and jump height is low. Daisy has a lot in common with Peach, including the ability to float in midair and pluck vegetables out of nowhere. She even has her own Toad defending her! Hm... if she's the princess of Sarasaland, why does she spend so much time in the Mushroom Kingdom? Doesn't she have, like, royal duties to tend to? Or is that more of a king thing? I don't know, I'm just thinking out loud."
Dark Pit[edit]
- "That's Pittoo. I guess he's not a huge fan of that name, but that's what's written here. Weight is average, speed is fast, and jump height is low. He only has limited power of flight granted by the goddess Viridi, but he can still use his wings to jump a couple extra times in midair. He's also equipped with a Silver Bow, an Electroshock Arm, and his own set of Guardian Orbitars, which makes his arsenal a force to be reckoned with. The differences between him and Pit are slight, but when used properly, they can really make a difference in battle!"
