Notices
The Skill parameter has been removed from Smasher infoboxes, and in its place are the new "Best historical ranking" and "Best tournament result" parameters. SmashWiki needs help adding these new parameters to Smasher infoboxes, refer to the guidelines here for what should be included in these new parameters.
When adding results to Smasher pages, include each tournament's entrant number in addition to the player's placement, and use the {{Trn}} template with the matching game specified. Please also fix old results on Smasher pages that do not abide to this standard. Refer to our Smasher article guidelines to see how results tables should be formatted.
Check out our project page for ongoing projects that SmashWiki needs help with.

You know, why not.

  • Be more reasonable about palette swaps. These exist for us to be able to tell apart multiple instances of the same character.
    • There are numerous pairs of costumes that don't distinguish easily. Consider the worst case, Sonic: why not just change his fur, instead of the tiny little ornaments he wears? Worked for DK.
    • If a character is going to have two dozen costumes, make sure they're all distinguishable. Otherwise no. Prioritise dammit.
  • Bring back character-specific Target stages
  • Board the Platforms was pretty cool.
  • Some Up-B moves had a little 'jump' added to them, for no reason other than the input happens to be Up-B. It usually doesn't fit the move very well, and just turns out a forced way to improve a characters recovery.
  • Ability to grab otherwise-grabbable thin platforms with tethers (for example, Olimar on Port Town)
  • No duplicate characters. They are annoying and don't make any sense. (Mario/Doc, Link/YL/TL, etc)
    • For double points, they could be made into actually distinguishable costume swaps.
  • Give back a relative handicap system as in SSB and SSBM, instead of an absolute handicap system like in SSBB.
  • Computer players shouldn't prioritise attacking human players.
  • Stuff that I haven't thought about yet
  • Obvious stuff such as removing tripping
