My take on DatNuttyKid's Idea, which I think has potential. Extremely rough draft to the point where it's not even a proposal.
Abilities[edit]
- Delete pages under twenty hours old.
- Place non-autoconfirmed users in a special "superprobated" group that can last up to three hours and prevents them from creating new pages or making certain types of edits, such as page or section blanking.
- Semiprotect articles for up to 24 hours.
- Patrol pages and have their edits marked as autopatrolled.
Requirements[edit]
Users who wish to become janitors must submit a Request for Janitorial Rights, which includes a brief writeup on the user's history of combatting vandalism and several examples of correct use of rollback from different vandals. A community vote will then be held in a similar manner to an RfA.
Removal of Rights[edit]
If Janitors do something they are not permitted to do but cannot officially be stopped (such as deleting a page that requires consensus), they will be questioned by an admin or a bureaucrat on why they thought it was necessary. If they cannot provide a legitimate reason, their janitorial powers will be revoked and they will return to rollback (and depending on the severity of the situation, they may be demoted to normal user or temporarily blocked). If they are demoted, they must once again fulfill the six month requirements.
