(^) = 3DS version features Star & Screen KOs

In 4XM, Mushroom Kingdom U, Luigi's Mansion, The Great Cave Offensive, Boxing Ring, Wrecking Crew and Miiverse gain Star KOs. Skyloft and Wuhu Island also gain Star KOs, but only in certain areas, Skyloft being whenever the stage is in the sky (transitioning) and Wuhu Island oddly only having Star KOs on the first platform layout. Jungle Hijinxs gains Star KOs but doesn't get Screen KOs. Other than occuring on new stages, Star KOs and Screen KOs now can happen at extreme knockback speeds, and can also happen in Sudden Death and when the match time is under five seconds. The animation for both KOs was also made faster.

Star/Screen KO limits[edit]

There's a limit on how fast you can send your opponents if you want Star or Screen KOs. The exact limit is still unknown, but i'm still searching for it.

One match, I used Sonic's up throw on a Mewtwo at 260% (1.0x). It got Screen KO'd.

Scenario 1[edit]

Villager and Bowser are both fighting on the top of The Great Cave Offensive, 0.5x Damage Ratio, Villager is at 200% and Bowser is at 300%. Villager Forward Smashes Bowser sending him towards the upper blast line at a moderate-fast speed. He gets Screen KO'd at 320%.

Now, if this was at 1.0x, Bowser would've been past the upper blast line in an instant and Blast KO'd. No matter how much Villager KOs Bowser with his Forward Smash, he will always be Blast KO'd (unless he was hit at the bottom of the stage and ricochets to the upper blast line).

But in 0.5x, he's flying at a slower speed, and there's a chance he'll be Screen KO'd (Great Cave doesn't have Star KOs).

It all depends how fast the opponent is going, as even hitting an opponent above the upper blast line still has a chance of a Star or Screen KO.

Scenario 2[edit]

A PAC-MAN (at 999%) is screwing around with a Mr. Game & Watch (at 10%) on Windy Hill Zone. Mr. G&W uses an up air. PAC-MAN gets Star KO'd. Next stock: 999%, up air, Screen KO. Next: Blast KO.

The wind will never have a extreme amount of knockback, even at 999% (and technically above, if PAC-MAN is still getting hit), so it will be a random chance of a Blast, Star or Screen KO.
