Hello, this is Doc King, and this is the 3rd recovery tier list for Melee. Now this here is a lot better and a lot organized than the other recovery tier lists I've done and I think it's going to be like this for a while. This was made on July 1st, 2010 by me, Doc King. Also with the help of Ivy73, Megatron1, and Zeldasmash. So I hope you like the new tier list and actually use it for recovery help!!! Please also comment on what you think and enjoy the list!

Now here are the reasons for the changes!
Character | Movement | Reason |
Jigglypuff | 0 | She still has the best recovery in the game and it's almost an infinite recovery. |
Samus | 0 | She still has really good recovery that helps really well in Tourney. |
Mewtwo | +2 | Thanks to his flooatiness and really good double jump, Mewtwo jumped up 2 spaces on the tier list. |
Link | 0 | Thanks to Zeldasmash, Link hasn't lowered on the list and also thanks to his very long recovery and good and useful choices. |
Pichu | +2 | Pichu still has unpredictable recovery and he still has a long up B recovery that makes him hard to edge gaurd. |
Pikachu | +2 | The same thing as Pichu (lower because no wall jump and shorter side B recovery). |
Peach | -4 | Due to some vertical problems and somewhat limited choices, Peach has moved down on the tier list. |
Ganondorf | +1 | Thanks to his floatiness and down B move, Ganon can recover from long distances. |
Falcon | +1 | Has very good recovery in the Fountain of dreams and can pretty much do the same thing as Ganon but he doesn't have floatiness. |
Fox | +1 | His up B move is very long, making it hard to gimp him. |
Marth | +7 | He has really good DI and really good floatiness that makes him very hard to KO. His awesome DI makes his recovery really good. The only thing though is that if you don't DI well, his recovery will be kindof bad due to his lack of horizontal distance. Marth made the biggest change and increase in the tier list. |
Young Link | +6 | Has very good wall recovery and pretty good regular recovery. He also has a grapple he can use and other good choices. |
Luigi | -1 | Luigi sadly has a luck recovery so you can't tell what he's going to do (side B move). Also his up B move lacks horizontal distance. |
Ice Climbers | 0 | They still have very good recovery when they're together but when 1 dies, you can't recover well. |
Kirby | 0 | Still has very good vertical distance, but he lacks horizontal distance which makes him easy to edge gaurd. |
Zelda | -6 | Due to very laggy recovery and being gimped easy, Zelda/Sheik droped down to the bottom of Good Tier. |
Mario | -4 | Due to having pretty short recovery and being gimped easy, Mario moved down to the top of Ok Tier. |
Mr. Game & Watch | -2 | Due to the lack of horizontal distance, Game & Watch has moved down a little. |
DK | +1 | Thanks to his weight and horizontal distance, DK has moved up. |
Falco | +1 | He has a very good wall jump and an ok side B recovery. |
Dr. Mario | +4 | The first tier list not to feature Dr. Mario dead lastThanks to his few choices and not being fastfallish, Doc has moved up to Ok Tier. |
Roy | 0 | Roy still can be gimped very easy and he has limited choices. Plus he's very fastfallish which makes DIing almost useless to recover. He still has better horizontal distance than Marth but that's pretty much the only good thing about his recovery. |
Yoshi | -4 | Due to being gimped really easy and having very limited choices. Yoshi moves down to Bad Tier. |
Ness | -1 | Due to having hard and slow recovery and having a projectile for recovery, Ness moves down to the middle of Bad Tier. |
Bowser | -1 | Due to very limited and very short recovery, Bowser moves to the bottom, where he now has the worst recovery in the game. |
Trivia[edit]
- This is the only made up tier list that had some people help with it: Zeldasmash, Ivy73, and Megatron1.
- This is the only SSBM recovery tier list that doesn't have Dr. Mario at the very bottom, instead being Bowser.
- This is the only made up tier list that has a tie breaker in it. Marth and Young Link are the tie breakers.
- This is the only SSBM recovery tier list that has Link at the top tier and Yoshi at the bottom tier. This actually the only tier list where Link is actually top tier.
- Link was originally planned to be lower in the tier list but thanks to Zeldasmash, he was not lowered but instead ascended to the top tier.
- Young Link was originally planned to be lower in the tier list but thanks to Ivy73, he was not lowered but instead ascended to the good tier and also thanks to Ivy, he also made the 2nd biggest change in the tier list, moving from 17th to 11th/12th.
- Zeldasmash's 3 top characters from Melee are at the top tier being Link, Mewtwo and Samus (in the tier list, the order is in reverse)
- Excluding Samus and Link, the Pokémon characters are the highest ranked recovery characters, ranked 1st (Jigglypuff), 3rd (Mewtwo), 5th (Pichu) and 6th (Pikachu).
- Luigi is in the same placement as the 1st list and Roy is in the same placement as the 2nd list.
- Jigglypuff is the only character who always stayed at the same spot.
- Mewtwo, Pichu and Pikachu moved the same amount of spaces in each tier list, ascending 2 spaces each time.
