Tournament Go (abbreviated TG) was a series of Super Smash Bros. Melee tournaments held in California by Matt Deezie, who is best known for being the father of the Super Smash Bros. tournament scene. The Tournament Go tournaments are considered the first major tournaments and had six iterations from 2002 to 2004. Tournament Go was the biggest national tournament series during its time and set the precedence for all Smash tournaments to follow. TG also helped to create the current accepted rule set.
